The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in
its second season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine
positions from the previous week. Players are selected from
nominations from their school's sports information directors. This
is the eleventh Team of the Week of the 2013 season.

C J.D. Dorgan, Jr., St. Thomas
(Minn.)
Dorgan, the MIAC Baseball Player of the Week, led the Tommies to a
6-0 week that include two road wins at St. John's and two home wins
over regionally-ranked St. Olaf. Dorgan batted .524 (11-for-21)
with a 1.048 slugging percentage while scoring 12 runs and driving
in 12, including three home runs and two doubles. Dorgan continued
his solid defensive, recording 35 put outs and three assists
without an error.
1B Brian Mauro, Sr.,
DeSales
Mauro led the Bulldogs to a 3-1 record batting .733 (11-for-16)
with four doubles, two home runs, and ten RBIs. In the process he
broke the single-season record for doubles in a season at DeSales,
recording his 24th of the year.
2B Shane Healey, So., La
Roche
Healey hit .444 (12-for-27) and got on base 18 times for La Roche.
He scored eight runs, hit seven RBI, homered, doubled, walked
twice, and went 6-for-6 on stolen bases. Healey handled 29 chances
without committing an error.
SS Zach Rogers, Sr., Cornell College
Rogers batted .481 (13-for-27) in seven games for the Rams. on the
week, Rogers set school records for triples (7) and RBIs (49) in a
season. One of his three home runs was a grand slam, that gave him
the RBI record. Rogers drove in 17 runs and scored nine.
3B Anthony Iacomini, Jr., Cortland St.
Iacomini was 3-for-3 with two RBI in a win over Cazenovia and had
two hits in three other games - a home win vs. Mt. St. Mary and two
wins at Fredonia. Iacomini batted .818 (9-for-11) with two walks on
the week.
OF Alex Lorenc, Jr., Saint Joseph's
(Me.)
Lorenc helped propel the Monks to their fourth-consecutive GNAC
Championship by hitting .500 (9-for-18) with six runs, three
doubles, two home runs, six RBI and a stolen base over four
tournament tilts last week.
OF Erik Munzer, Sr., Pomona-Pitzer
Munzer helped Pomona-Pitzer go 3-1 in the SCIAC's pool play format
for the final week of the regular season, locking up the 2 seed and
home field for the first round of the playoffs. He batted .778
(14-for-18) with eight RBI and seven runs scored. Munzer celebrated
his Senior Day by reaching base in his first 10 plate appearances
in home games against La Verne and Whittier (8-for-8 with a walk
and a HBP) before finally being retired in the bottom of the
eighth.
OF Morgan Rupp, Sr., Wesley
Rupp led his team by hitting .667 in three games for the
Wolverines (6-for-9) with a team-high four walks. Collecting two
hits in each game, Rupp went 2-for-3 with two walks and knocked in
the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth of a midweek
victory over Richard Stockton.
DH Daryn Streed, Sr., Rockford
Daryn Streed was instrumental in leading the Regents to an 8-0
week last week. He had a hit in every game and had 6 multi-hit
games including three 3-hit games. The senior had six doubles, two
home runs scored ten runs and had 12 RBI. Streed hit .500 for the
week (17-for-34) with a .564 on-base percentage and an .853
slugging percentage.
SP Kyle Brenner, So., Brandeis
Brenner earned a pair of wins for the Judges with 10 scoreless
innings, allowing just four hits with 14 strikeouts. He fanned five
of 11 batters faced in a three-inning relief stint against Gordon
and tossed a complete-game seven-inning two-hitter with career-high
nine strikeouts in a win over Trinity (Conn.).
SP Jimmy Brakebush, Fr., Pacific (Ore.)
Earning a spot start in Tuesday's non-conference game against
Concordia (Ore.), Brakebush earned his first collegiate win by
allowing one run on one hit in seven innings as the Boxers won 3-1.
He went on to throw a perfect 10th inning of relief in Saturday's
second game with Pacific Lutheran as the Boxers went on to win
7-6.
SP Dom Quaranta, So., Washington (Mo.)
Sophomore Dom Quaranta improved to 6-0 on the season with a
complete-game shutout in Washington's seven-inning 3-0 win at
Chicago Saturday. Quaranta allowed just two hits against the
Maroons, who entered the week leading NCAA Division III in batting
average and slugging percentage. He recorded two strikeouts and
handed Chicago its first shutout of the season.
RP Kevin Joo, Sr., Neumann
Joo came out of the bullpen in liong relief and picked up the win
against Moravian. Joo came in in the second inning with three
runners on and no outs. He limited the scoring and allowed just a
single hit over the the next 7.1 innings, setting down 19 of the
final 20 batters he faced.
