LaGrange College head baseball coach Kevin Howard is leaving after 14 seasons to take a similar post at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga.

"We are grateful to Kevin for bringing a winning tradition to our baseball program." said Athletic Director Jennifer Claybrook. "He has been an integral part of our athletic department and institution, with great dedication, work ethic and passion."

Howard, who has more wins than any coach in the school's athletic history, leaves behind a legacy of success. The Panthers enjoyed winning seasons in 12 of his 14 years after his arrival from Emory University in 2000.

Howard had a 372-266 record at LaGrange. He recorded his 500th coaching win during the 2011 season and has an overall record of 549-358-1. Howard was 22-23 in 2013 with a 13-11 conference record in LaGrange's first year in the USA South.

The Panthers won six Great South Athletic Conference regular season championships and three GSAC Tournament Championships under his leadership. Howard's 2003 record-setting team went 36-10, winning the GSAC regular season and tournament championships and capping the season by winning the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national championship.

In 2010, Howard guided the Panthers to their first NCAA Division III national tournament bid, defeating nationally ranked Salisbury in the South Regional. Under Howard, LaGrange has produced 58 all-conference players, 16 all-region performers, 15 All-Americans and eight conference player/pitcher/freshman of the year award winners.

This past season, the team's first in the USA South conference, the Panthers were 13-11 in conference play and were runner-ups in the conference tournament. The Panthers had three players selected to the All-Conference teams and 24 others earn Academic All-Conference honors.
