Hartford, Conn. - Trinity (Conn.) has announced the appointment of Bryan Adamski as the new head coach. Adamski joins the Bantams from Amherst where he served as assistant coach for five years. Adamski helped guide the Lord Jeffs to a NESCAC title and a deep run into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in the spring of 2013. Adamski replaces interim coach Mark Lambert who coached the Bantams for the 2013 season ending 21-19.
"We are excited to welcome Bryan Adamski to the Trinity College
Athletic Department," said Director of Athletics Mike Renwick.
"Coach Adamski will be a great leader and mentor for the young men
on their journey as a Trinity College student-athlete. We are
confident he will continue the great tradition of success within
the Trinity baseball program well into the future."
Adamski served as both the pitching and hitting coach during his
tenure at Amherst. While Adamski was at Amherst, the Lord
Jeffs posted a 112-57 record (.663) and four consecutive
post-season appearances. He helped Amherst win a
College-record 27 games in 2013, and coached the NESCAC Pitcher,
Defensive Player, and Rookie of the Year this spring. While
serving as hitting coach in 2010, Adamski's hitters posted a
College-record batting average of .349. The Lord Jeffs' pitching
staff set a new team record for ERA (3.17) with Adamski as their
pitching coach in 2013. He also coached the North Adams Steeplecats
in the New England Collegiate Baseball League the last two summers,
and was previously with the NECBL's Holyoke Blue Sox.
Adamski graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 2007
with bachelor's degrees in English and journalism, and holds a
master's degree from Springfield College in Sport Management.
He finished his collegiate playing career as the all-time save
leader in UMass baseball history.
"I am extremely honored that Mike Renwick and the search committee
members have the faith in me to lead Trinity College baseball,"
said Adamski. "It is a tremendous opportunity to take over
the most storied program in NESCAC history. I want to thank
former Amherst coach Bill Thurston and current coach Brian Hamm for
the roles each of them played in preparing me for this chance."
Trinity baseball has played in the NCAA Division III World Series
four times in the last 11 years and won the 2008 National
Championship with an unprecedented 45-1 final record. In 2013, the
Bantams posted a 21-19 record and tied Bowdoin for the top spot in
the NESCAC East Division.
"I would like to publicly thank and praise our interim head coach
Mark Lambert for his leadership, work ethic and dedication to our
program over not only this year but for all of his nine years on
the Trinity College campus," stated Renwick. "In addition, I
would also like to thank his assistants, Steve Cervizzi and Ernie
May, for their work and dedication to our student-athletes over the
last year under less than ideal circumstances."
