Thiel sophomore Mall Elko tossed his first career nine-inning shutout, allowing just three hits in the Tomcats' 2-0 win over Illinois College Thursday.  Elko didn't allow a hit until the third inning and needed 127 pitches to complete the shutout in one hour and 41 minutes. The sophomore hurler, who picked up a no-decision in Thiel's season opener against Widener, improved to 1-0 and lowered his ERA to 1.69 on the season. Elko struck out 10 hitters and walked just two.

A pinch-hit single by senior Max Litvak in the bottom of the 10th brought home the winning run as Muhlenberg evened their record at 4-4 with a 2-1 comeback win against York. Muhlenberg’s starting pitchers have allowed only one earned run in their last 22.1 innings, and the entire staff has not allowed an earned run in 20 innings.

Freshman hurler Spencer Ramsey tossed a one-hit shutout versus Mitchell at Bauer Field, going the distance in a 5-0 Bishop win. N.C. Wesleyan and Mitchell earned the first tie in the D-III season, which was tied 1-1 and called in the eighth inning due to rain. Former Battling Bishop standout Travis Beausoleil made his return to Bauer Field as head coach of the Mariners.

Edgewood defeated Christian Brothers 7-2 to win it's season opener for first time in four years. The Eagles' Andrew Lauritzen and Marc Ostrowski have three hits to lead the offense with Brock McGinn earning the win in relief.

Easton Riggs pitched four innings to get the win, allowing two hits and two walks with two strikeouts in Ferrum's 4-2 win non-conference baseball win over Bridgewater (Va.) at Panther Field.

Just when Immaculata thought it might be on the verge of a late comeback and two-game sweep of Elizabethtown, the Blue Jays slammed the door. Five players plated a run in a six-run sixth inning that elevated E-town to a 13-5 win. Immaculata won game one, 4-1.

John Carroll handed Scranton a rough first inning that included a five-plus-hour rain delay in a 14-5 win for the Blue Streaks. John Carroll scored four times in the top of the first inning before the rains came, forcing a postponement that lasted nearly five and a half hours and sent both teams back to their hotels. When play resumed, the Blue Streaks added three more runs before the inning ended, putting the Royals in a 7-0 hole before they stepped to the plate.
