Hamilton opened its season with a 2-1 win over Bowdoin in Leesburg, Fla. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was canceled because of weather conditions. The win marked the seventh time in 10 years that the Continentals have opened the season with a victory.
Marian returned to the diamond following their day off with a doubleheader against Augsburg. In game one, defensive mistakes cost Marian, as they surrendered six unearned runs in the 7-5 loss. In game two, however, they made up for it, pounding out 20 hits and not committing a single error in the 19-9 win.
Mass-Dartmouth junior centerfielder Ryan Medeiros continued to swing a hot bat, posting a 3-for-4 showing at the plate with four runs batted in to help the Corsairs score seven unanswered runs to rally past Springfield, 7-4, in Florida.
Sophomore Wesley Burghardt hit a two-out, two-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give Brockport State an 8-7 lead en route to a 9-7 victory over Washington & Jefferson at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Florida. The game, moved up an hour to avoid a predicted rain storm, featured four lead changes and four multi-run innings. Washington and Jefferson defeated Babson, 5-4, earlier in the day.
Pomona-Pitzer scored six runs in the seventh, four on bases loaded walks, to come from behind and capture a 6-4 win over Wesleyan at Alumni Field. The game started as a duel between starting pitchers Mark Okuma for the Sagehens and Peter Rantz for the Cardinals both starters were through by the end of six innings.
No. 5 Wisconsin-Stevens Point sent William Paterson to a 13-2 loss against at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. Sophomore first baseman Brandon Kranz was 4-for-4 with four RBI for the Pointers. Starter Luke Watson received the victory, giving up two runs on three hits over 6.0 innings.

Staging a remarkable comeback in their final contest of the day, Plattsburgh State scored seven runs in the final three innings to earn a 13-8 win over McDaniel at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. The Cardinals were swept in a doubleheader against Wisconsin-Stout to begin the day.
Freshman right-hander Zack Bean pitched six innings and senior DH Chris Bernard drove in three runs as Southern Maine defeated the St. Norbert Green Knights, 7-1, in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader at Chain O Lakes Park. The game was called in the top of the seventh inning due to rain, and the second game of the doubleheader was cancelled.
Western New England scored the first six runs in its game versus Trinity (Conn.) en route to an 11-1 rain-shortened victory at Chain of Lakes Park. In the second game of the doubleheader, Trinity loaded the bases with one out in the first before play was called due to the inclement weather. The Bantams and Golden Bears will look to continue the contest later in the week.
Thiel registered a season-high 19 hits, slugging their way past the La Roche Redhawks 10-5. Four Tomcats collected three hits each, and eight of th nine starters collected at least one hit.
