Junior Kevin Cowan carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning but William Paterson eventually succumbed to visiting Drew, 4-1 in 14 innings, Monday at Jeff Albies Field. Drew had several chances in the extra frames to end the game and finally took the lead for the first time in the game with a three-run 14th.

Senior right fielder Cody Makin hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to propel Thomas More to a 9-8 win over Thiel in a PAC game at Tomcat Park in Greenville, Pennsylvania. The Saints completedxff a three-game sweep of the Tomcats with the win as they defeated Thiel twice yesterday in a doubleheader.

Junior Brandon McClain threw a three-hit shutout as nationally seventh-ranked Cortland completed a sweep of Plattsburgh, 4-0, in the second game of a SUNYAC doubleheader. The Red Dragons won the opener, 8-7, with single runs in the eighth and ninth innings after Plattsburgh scored seven times in the top of the eighth to take a 7-6 lead.

No. 10 Concordia-Chicago swept Concordia (Wisc.) in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader. The Cougars won the opener 12-2 before taking game two by an 11-6 score. The Falcons couldn't contain CUC from the big inning on Monday. In the opener CUW held a 1-0 lead after four and was tied 1-1 after five but two five-run innings by the Cougars helped them gain the 10-run win. CUC carried that momentum over in game two, building an 8-1 lead after four innings en route to the 11-6 win.

Lynchburg saw its winning streak end at five games as the Hornets dropped the first game of a doubleheader, 6-5, to Eastern Mennonite. Lynchburg then coasted to an 8-1 victory in game two against the ODAC foe.

Moravian, with a big ining and solid pitching earned their seventh consecutive victory, a 10-4 defeat of Misericordia at Gillespie Field in non-conference action. The Moravian Greyhounds came together in the fourth inning to combine on six runs and seven hits in support of senior starting pitcher Robert Solano, who improved to 2-0 after pitching a complete game. None of the Cougars' runs were earned as the senior hurler scattered eight hits while striking out three without any walks. Solano is now tied for ninth in the school record books with 12 career wins.

The College of Wooster came back from a 6-1 deficit with a five-run fifth inning and later broke the 6-6 tie by scoring three times in the eighth, as the Fighting Scots prevailed 9-6 in game two over Kenyon to complete a sweep of their NCAC East Division foe after taking the opener 10-5 during a rare Monday matinee at Art Murray Field.

Sophomore Ryan Reitmeyer lofted a pinch-hit, two RBI single to knot the game at five-all as No. 4 Kean rallied to defeat Rutgers-Camden, 7-5, in NJAC action.  The contest, which was postponed from Saturday, gives the Cougars and Scarlet Raptors a series split in conference play. The win moved Kean from tenth to a tie for first as no other NJAC member has been able to play a conference game to this point.

No. 18 ranked Mount Union scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning of game two for a 5-4 win to salvage a split with Ohio Northern at 23rd Street in Alliance.  The Polar Bears won the opener 7-3. On the day Ohio Northern's Junior Dan Belliveau extended his hit streak to 18 games.

Led by a 4-for-4 performance from Chris Power, Methodist banged out 17 hits in cruising to a 13-5 win in completing a three-game sweep of Greensboro at Armstrong-Shelley Field. Power, who hit his sixth triple of the season, also walked once, and added four runs scored with a pair driven.

Travis Lane (Canton, Conn.) tossed a one-hitter in the nightcap to help the Springfield College baseball team earn a doubleheader split with Trinity College on Sunday.
