Ursinus freshman left handed pitcher Seth Regensburg allowed just one hit through eight innings, helping to lead the Bears to a 5-1 win over Muhlenberg Tuesday afternoon. Regenburg ran into trouble in the ninth and Vince Piccioni came in to close the door.
Keystone enjoyed their best offensive output of the 2014 season to date as the Giants won their home opener over CSAC foe Centenary, 11-6. The Giants have now won four of their last five games and are averaging 9.4 runs scored in the span.
Junior Wade Hauser had two runs batted in and freshman Tom Petry scored twice as 24th-ranked Tufts won 2-1 at home against Brandeis on Huskins Field. Four Tufts pitchers combined to hold Brandeis to one run as the Jumbos improved to 13-1 overall. Brandeis junior pitcher Kyle Brenner was a tough-luck loser, going the distance allowing seven hits and one earned run.
Alvernia scored in every inning but the fifth in a 13-4 win over Gwynedd-Mercy in non-conference baseball action at Angelica Park. Richie Ricciardi posted the biggest day for the offense going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs.
New Paltz State was hurt by Oneonta State's four-run surge in the top of the ninth, as the Hawks fell, 6-2, to the Red Dragons in a SUNYAC game Tuesday afternoon at Loren Campbell Memorial Field. Junior pitcher Alex Mastrianni earned the victory for Oneonta, lasting eight innings and yielding two runs off seven hits and two walks while striking out four.
Christopher Newport exploded for 21 hits, the most since 2010, and scored 16 runs as the Captains blew past Mary Washington in CAC action. Twelve different players had at least one hit, including all nine starters, as CNU smacked the most hits since roping 22 almost exactly four years ago. The Captains were led by three-hit days by Billy Steel, Justin Weaver, and A.J. Nicely.
JP Feyereisen threw a complete-game shutout and Cam Seidl struck out nine Titans through eight innings as second-ranked UW-Stevens Point notched a pair of victories over UW-Oshkosh 4-0 and 8-3. Feyereisen scattered three hits on the day, fanning seven on his way to the victory. Seidl threw eight solid innings on the mound, scattering seven this and three runs, all earned, while fanning nine batters. Luke Watson came in to finish the ninth and seal the sweep.
Junior right-hander Kristopher Davis got ahead early in counts and took advantage of an eager Albright lineup at Kevin Scott Boyd Stadium. Davis fired a complete game, three-hit shutout in leading the Blue Jays to a 3-0 Commonwealth Conference victory.

Texas Lutheran's Zach Jacobs hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th for a walk-off 2-1 Bulldog victory over 16th-ranked Concordia Texas. To get to the tenth, the Bulldogs rallied for a run in the ninth after being held scoreless until the ninth by Concordia left-hander Ragan Pope.
Wooster piled up 36 runs on 36 hits, as its offense led the way to 21-15 and 15-6 victories against Kenyon, completing a four-game sweep in the NCAC East Division foes' match-up at a warm, but windy Art Murray Field.
Sophomore Michael Kendall collected two RBI and classmate Ryan Reitmeyer was 3-for-3 as Kean swam past the College of Staten Island by the final of 6-1. Relief pitcher Chris Amato earned his first win of the year as he tossed two and a third innings allowing no runs and four hits. The Cougars used four pitchers in today's outing as Anthony Fischetti, Shane Alvarez and Vinny Zanfordino all found time on the mound. In total the group allowed eight hits and five walks.
Senior Drew Felsenthal threw seven scoreless innings while classmate Nate Simon finished 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs as Gettysburg ran its winning streak to 12, blanking Franklin & Marshall,11-0 in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams at Kirchhoff Field. The Bullets snapped a four-game losing streak to F&M. The Bullets also continued their longest winning streak since a 14-gamer in 1930 and their best start since opening 15-3 in 2007.
Jared Baird and Kyle McLain combined on a two-hit shutout to lead Washington & Jefferson's 3-0 PAC victory over Westminster in game one of a doubleheader. Josh Stanisia had three hits and stole three bases in game two as W&J completed its second-straight league sweep with a 9-3 victory over the Titans.
Lynchburg led 1-0 heading into the eighth inning where a crucial two-run home run by junior Joe Rogers led the Hornets past Hampden-Sydney 3-0 in ODAC action. Zac Patrick worked eight innings of three-hit ball while striking out four and walking three to ear the win. Hornet starting pitchers have now worked 17-straight scoreless innings.
