Grinnell completed its season sweep of Knox Wednesday afternoon, beating the Prairie Fire 18-4 in eight innings and 9-5 in the second game which was called in the seventh inning due to darkness. With the sweep, the Pioneers assure themselves of a trip to the MWC playoffs.

Senior right-hander Bucky Shipp collected his first career win as Mississippi College outlasted Millsaps, 10-8, at Frierson Field. The Choctaws have now won 15 of their last 21 games after opening the season with a 5-11 record. One more victory in their final three games this weekend against Texas-Tyler will clinch a winning record for Mississippi College for the first time since 2011.

In their regular season home finale, No. 8 Heidelberg fell behind early but roared back to secure a 17-9 victory over the College of Wooster. The Fighting Scots lead 6-0 and 8-2, but the Student Princes scored 11 unanswered runs and improved to 31-7. The offensive onslaught was led by the 4-7 hitters in Matt Palm's lineup, who combined for 13 hits and 13 runs.

Olivet split a non-conference doubleheader against Rochester (Mich.) at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. The Comets lost the first game 11-2 before bouncing back to win the nightcap, 10-4.

UW Whitewater's Scott Plaza pitched nine innings of an 11-inning, 1-0 win over UW-Oshkosh in Whitewater.  He gave up just four hits and one walk while striking out eleven.  On the flip side Ben Messenger was pitching an equally impressive game.  He went nine innings allowing four hits and striking out five. The Warhawks won the first game of the doubleheader 8-7.

Hanover made the most of nine hits and a pair of solid pitching performances to post a 6-2 victory against Transylvania in a HCAC tilt. Senior third baseman Zack Shultz had three hits and scored three times, while junior first baseman Matt Brooks and junior catcher Nolan Hall each knocked in a pair of runs to lead Hanover’s attack.

Eureka played its final game of the 2014 season, dropping a 9-6 SLIAC decision to Greenville at Henry Sand Field.  The loss ended Eureka's season with a 7-27 overall record. The visitors took the lead for good with four runs in the third.  In the fourth inning, the first four Greensville batters reached safely as the Panthers built a 5-1 lead they would never give up.

Zach Wendorf and Tyler Flood turned in lengthy scoreless appearances out of the bullpen as the 15th-ranked UW-Stevens Point swept host Ripon 7-2 and 7-3 at Francis Field.

he Springfield College baseball team picked up a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) win on Thursday, beating visiting Emerson, 12-2 on Berry-Allen Field.

Springfield was led by the bats of Keith Cotnoir (Westhampton, Mass.), Jared Hopkins (Cranston, R.I.) and Shane O'Leary (Kings Park, N.Y.) in the win. Cotnoir drove in three runs while Hopkins and O'Leary drove in two each. Frank Calabrese (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Steve Starr (Lebanon, Conn.) each tallied two hits.

Tyler Kelly (Absecon, N.J.) earned the win on the mound in his first collegiate start for the Pride. Kelly went five innings, allowing three hits and just one run while striking out four.
