2014 Triple Plays

North Central (Ill.) turns triple play against St. Norbert (March 21, 2014)


North Central (Ill.) turned the first triple play of the season in the fifth inning of the first game of a doubleheader with St. Norbert. Derek Klegin lined to Alex Khoury who started the relay to Zach Jarosz and Jake Rone.

Babson turns triple play against Plymouth State (April 2, 2014)

 

In the top of the third inning Plymouth State's Dan Armstrong lined out to Chris Warren who threw to Kevin Murphy to double off Brandon Cox, who threw to Sean Lanahan to double off Brian Thompson for the triple killing. Armstrong would groundout into a double play in the eighth.

Wooster turns triple play against Baldwin-Wallace (April 10, 2014)

The Scots turned a triple play against Baldwin-Wallace. In the top of the eighth, Baldwin Wallace sent runners on first and second in motion and Mark Zimmerman ripped a liner to the left side. Frank Vance gloved it, threw to second baseman Kenny Reckart, who completed the rare feat by tossing it over to Cal Thomay on the first base bag.




Maryville turns triple play against Piedmont (April 27, 2014)

 

Maryville's 8th inning triple play featured a catch by shortstop Andrew Mabini who flipped it to Matt Jones at second before the turn to Zack Blonder at first. The video was shot by Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant Brian Gaid with Coach John Dzik and Piedmont student-worker Parker Young on the call.

UW-Stevens Point turns triple play against UW-Stout (May 9, 2014)

 

UW-Stevens Point recorded a 5-4-3 triple play in a WIAC Championship elimination game with UW-Stout. Jared Francois lined out to Taylor Carlson who threw to Brandon Kranz and Krantz to Cody Hanke for the triple killing.

Concordia (Texas) turns triple play against LeTourneau (May 10, 2014)

 

Concordia (Texas) turned a 5-4-3 triple play in the ASC championship round against LeTourneau. In the fourth inning. David Perkins hit into triple play, Kyle Rodriguez to Estevan Hernandez to  Connor Bertsch
