DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley University seniors Randy Forsythe and Jimmy McCabe shined in their first collegiate starts on the mound as the Aggies completed a sweep of visiting University of Valley Forge, 9-2 and 12-2. The second finished after three and a half innings due to the Patriots running out of players.

Delaware Valley improved to 12-21 overall and will wrap up the 2015 campaign with a three-game series against Freedom Conference foe King's College that starts at home with a single contest on Thursday (Saturday's doubleheader is at King's). Valley Forge saw its record drop to 3-24 overall after the pair of defeats.

Delaware Valley sent Randy Forsythe to the mound and the senior was stellar as he began the game with three innings of scoreless ball while allowing just one hit. The Aggies offense helped their pitcher by building a 4-0 lead going into the fourth after getting one in the second and three more in the third. Liam Constantine had an RBI double that scored Ben Lippincott to open the scoring and Kyle Wenger and Matt Dewald each had RBI hits and came around to score in the third.

The Patriots got one back in the top of the fourth after a pair of hits and good base running by the first two hitters of the frame. However, Delaware Valley went on to score five more times in the home half of the sixth on five hits and two errors. DeWald picked up another RBI singled and a run scored in the frame.

Valley Forge tacked on one more in the seventh but that was it all it could generate off of Forsythe, who finished the game allowing just two earned runs on five hits while fanning four batters and walking one.

DeWald led the offense with two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs while Wenger and Jeremy Stewart also notched two hits apiece.

McCabe got the ball to start for Delaware Valley and, after a shaky first inning, hettled into his groove and was aided by plenty of offense. The first inning saw the Patriots take a 2-0 lead despite not getting one hit. They're offense was provided by three walks, one error and one hit batsman. McCabe did not allow a single hit during the game as he completed the four inning no-hitter while walking five and striking out three.

The Aggie bats put up a total of 12 runs in just three innings of work due to the game being called prior to the bottom of the fourth inning. A Valley Forge player was injured and could not return to the game. Since, the Patriots only traveled with nine players, they did not have enough to field the diamond after the injury.

Lippincott was 2-for-2 with three RBIs in the nightcap and Austin Bregman finished 2-for-3 at the dish with a pair of RBIs and three runs scored. DeWald had another good game from the designated position as he had two hits, three runs scored and two RBIs.
