ELSAH, ILL. -- The Principia College athletic department is proud to announce that Chris Marston has been appointed as the new head baseball coach.  Principia held a nation-wide search over the course of a year, while the baseball team had interim coaches during the season.  Larry Frank served as the head coach in 2015 where the Gold and Blue went 11-24.

Marston has been the baseball coach at the Principia School for the past two seasons, and will join the college staff after the current school year ends.  Marston went through the Graduate Assistant program here at Principia College where he was an assistant baseball coach while earning his master's degree from the University of the Rockies.  Chris also spent two summers as a head coach for a wood bat league at the IMG Baseball Academy in Bradenton, Florida where he gained valuable experience.  Marston attended the Upper school and is a graduate of Drury University where he played baseball for four seasons.  A couple of highlights from Chris' athletic career were throwing a no hitter against the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) on April 18, 2010 and also pitching for the Danville Dans of the Central Illinois Collegiate League in the summer of 2008.
