Hampden-Sydney used 15 hits to score 14 runs in a commanding 14-7 win over Averett on Tuesday afternoon for their fifth win of the season. John Lloyd led the offense with a 3-for-5 performance with four RBI and a run scored. Tyler Blevins also recorded three hits with two RBI and a run.

It was a good old-fashioned game of one-upmanship when the Saint Mary's (Minn.) and Concordia-Morehead squared off in Florida. The Cardinals scored single runs in the first two innings and the Cobbers answered with single runs in the bottom half of the innings. The Cobbers scored four runs in the third and the Cardinals did them two better with a six-run fifth. The Cardinals finished the nine-inning contest with 16 hits, the Cobbers matched that 16-hit effort. Fortunately the Cobbers could not one-up the Cardinals' six-run fifth and four-run sixth, as the Cardinals held on for a 14-11 victory. Concordia-Morehead defeated Houghton 6-5 earlier in the day.

U.T. Permian Basin posted 20 hits and scattered 10 runs over three innings to claim a 16-14 victory over Sul Ross State on a wind chilled afternoon at Kokernot Field. The Lobos held their own through two innings but allowed the Falcons bild a lead that was too much to overcome.

Leading just 2-0 going to the sixth inning, Augustana exploded for 11 runs in their final two at-bats to defeat Elmira 13-0 at Lake Myrtle Park Field. Sophomore right-hander Brad Dubow went six innings in his first collegiate start and pick up his first career win. The Vikings improved to 3-1 on the year. The contest was the season opener for the Soaring Eagles.
