Cortland doubled their wins against ranked opponents with a 7-4 win over No 24 Marietta and a 5-3 vctory over host No. 24 Methodist. In all four games this season, the Red Dragons has trailed and came back for the victory. Marietta rebounded with a 15-6 win over Lynchburg.
Jackson Weeg and Kyle Monk held the highest scoring offense in the country to just one run on six hits as No. 3 Emory defeated Huntingdon 4-1. Weeg worked 6.2 innings to pick up his third win of the season. The southpaw allowed 10 baserunners on six hits and four walks but forced 12 groundball outs keep the damage to a minimum. He added three strikeouts in the outing. Monk threw 2.1 hitless innings to earn his third save in 2016 and his second of two innings or more. He walked two and had three punch outs.
SUNY Old Westbury claimed its first win of the 2016 campaign with a 4-1 road victory over the No. 5 Kean Cougars. Jeremy Charles went 7.0 innings, allowing four base runners and striking out nine.
Garrett Kriston threw a complete-game and Devin Cerrato went 3-for-4 with three runs to lead to Covenant to a 5-2 victory over LaGrange in USA South action. The win snaps a four-game losing streak for Covenant and keeps the Scots' perfect home record in tact.
Nolan Watson struck out nine, Jake Palumbo hit a three-run shot and the Occidental Tigers dominated Caltech from start to finish winning 18-0 Friday afternoon. Watson allowed just three hits in six innings in his shutout performance. The 18 runs are the most scored on Friday.
Down to their final strike, Christopher Newport escaped with a dramatic win against Susquehanna, coming-from-behind for a 7-6 victory. The Captains improved to 6-0 to start the season when Bryan Lowry delivered the game-winning blow in the bottom of the ninth. With two on and two out, Lowry, stepping in as a pinch hitter, dribbled a game-tying infield single to the right side; an errant throw by the second baseman allowed Josh Moore to sprint home from second base to plate the go-ahead and game-clinching run.

Dalton Smith drove in two runs on two hits and Max Page threw 2.1 innings of scoreless relief to help lead the No. 22-ranked Texas-Tyler Patriots to an 8-6 series opening win over Mary Hardin-Baylor at Irwin Field. The Patriots and Cru were tied 5-5 after five, but they game would turn in the seventh with Texas-Tyler scoring three runs on two hits and an error in the seventh.
Mary Washington scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning in edging Bridgewater(Va.) , 3-2, at Dickinson Stadium to stay undefeated in five games. In a pitcher's duel, Bridgewater's Ryan Leake matched UMW All-American Ryan Van Assche zero for zero through five innings. Van Assche threw a complete game, striking out 11 and walking none, allowing six hits in nine innings and two unearned runs.
Pomona-Pitzer defeated SCIAC opponent Redlands in run-rule fashion by the score of 11-1 in seven innings at Alumni Field. The game began as a pitchers' duel with two of the best pitchers the SCIAC has to offer. Sagehen starter David Gerics went 6.2 innings, surrendered one run on five hits and tallied six strikeouts to get his third win of the season. Starting for the Bulldogs was Felix Minjarez who went 5.2 innings and gave up six hits with three earned runs. Starting in the fifth inning, the Sagehens figured out the Bulldog pitching and the offense took over.
Maryville right-hander Seth Debity pitched a complete game gem to enable the Scots diamondmen to defeat Piedmont 3-0 in their USA South opener in Demorest, Georgia. Debity, a senior from Madisonville, Tennessee, allowed only two hits while striking out a career-high 11 Lion hitters.
Wheaton (Ill.) and Spalding opened their 2016 seasons under sunny conditions. The Eagles broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth inning of game one to take the lidlifter 6-3. Wheaton rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning to earn a 10-9 walkoff victory in the nightcap.
