Wednesday is a time to catch up

No. 4 Ramapo shutout Old Westbury Wednesday 10-0 at Jeff Maund Field. Tyler Curto fired a two hitter over six inning of work for Ramapo with eight strikeouts and only two walks, Casey Jervis and Kyle Haag worked the final three innings and did not surrender a hit or a run in relief. Jervis struck out two with one walk in two innings of work while Haag struck out one in the ninth.

In a series that wound up getting spread over four days, Carthage wound up winning two-of-three from North Park, thanks to an 18-9 decision over the Vikings at Augie Schmidt Field in Kenosha, Wis. The Red Men continued to pummel to the ball at the plate, collecting 19 hits against the Vikings. Jordan Wiegold led the way with four hits in five at bats with three runs scored and three RBI.

Four days and two rainouts after it was scheduled to open up Centennial Conference play, Muhlenberg made a big splash when it finally faced a league opponent. The Mules pounded out 21 hits against eight pitchers and rolled to a 14-4 win at Ursinus. The 14 runs were the most for Muhlenberg in a CC game since a 15-7 win in two years. Every player in the starting lineup had at least one hit. Leading the way was Robbie Hopes, who went 5-for-6 and drove in four runs.

Jesse Arnold improved to 5-0 with a strong, eight-inning outing on the mound while Chris Triano and Brandon Eady combined to drive in seven runs to lead Keystone to an 11-4 victory over Gwynedd Mercy in a CSAC game. The Giants took the regular season series from the Griffins after the two teams split a doubleheader on Saturday in La Plume.

Brendan McNerney threw a complete game and Sam Lawrence hit a home run to lead  Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to a doubleheader sweep at Bard With wins of 7-4 and 4-0, RPI finished off series win that scheduled to end on Sunday.

Pinch hitter Joey Galeno drilled a shot down the right field line to bring home two runs and cap a wild cpmeback win for Pacific over Linfield at Chuck Bafaro Stadium, 5-4. The two clubs had already finished their three-game Northwest Conference set last month in McMinnville, so this contest was a non-league game. The Boxers won all three contests in that series, finishing 4-0 against the Wildcats this season.

Thiel swept a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader against the Saint Vincent Bearcats. Thiel recorded 12 runs in the first game en route to a 12-4 victory. In the second game, Thiel downed Saint Vincent 8-3. Matt Elko pitched six quality innings for Thiel to earn the win. Elko only allowed one run on four hits and struck out eight batters in the victory. Kevin Forrester picked up his fourth win of the season, pitching six strong innings. Tanner Teconchuk came in the seventh inning and sat down the Saint Vincent side in order.

Jake Enterlin helped right the ship for Johns Hopkins, tossing an eight-inning gem to help lead the Blue Jays to a 6-0 victory over visiting Dickinson. The graduate student needed just 79 pitches to get through eight innings and scattered four hits while striking out four and walking just one.

Bethel lifted a huge weight off of its shoulder, as the defending MIAC champions picked up their first conference victory of the season with a decisive 17-3 victory in game two of a MIAC doubleheader. The Royals fell to the Cobbers 3-8 in the opener, but utilized 19 hits and eight walks to defeat Concordia in game two.

Connor Kennedy rapped out three hits, while Kevin Kwedor allowed two hits and struck out five over six innings of work to lead Massachusetts Maritime to a 5-1 non-league victory over Coast Guard at Nitchman Field.

Michael Ruffing scored the only run of the game on an error by the Westminster's catcher in Washington &  Jefferson's 1-0 win in the opener of a PAC doubleheader.

Washington & Jefferson swept a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader at Westminster with a score of 1-0 in the first game and 9-3 in the second.  Game one of the twinbill featured efficient pitching and above average defense as both teams combined to account for just six hits and no RBIs. The nightcap started the same way but following the third inning, the bats heated up W&J salting the game aay with five rruns in the final inning.

Hunter Sleeper and Tristan Dacey both hit their first collegiate home runs in a 16-5 victory for Salve Regina over UMass Dartmouth on Reynolds Field. The game was moved to Newport from North Dartmouth because the Corsairs home field was unplayable and was the third win for the Seahawks in the last four meetings with the Corsairs in Newport. UMass Dartmouth still holds a 13-6 advantage in the all-time series.

No 16 Frostburg rallied past York (Pa.) for a 6-5, 10-inning victory despite trailing late in the game. The Bobcats trailed 4-1 following seven innings of play, but a three-run eighth and two more in the 10th lifted them to the win. The victory moves Frostburg into a three-win tie for first place in the CAC standings and is the sixth-straight win.

Jake Smith and Chad Clute each hit two-run homers in the first inning and three Tommie hurlers limited Augsburg to three runs and six hits in a 11-3 St. Thomas home win in game two of an MIAC baseball doubleheader at Koch Diamond. UST won game one 3-2 behind Mitch Larson's complete-game three-hitter as part of the sweep that let it stay unbeaten in the conference. No. 19-ranked St. Thomas slapped 21 hits on the day and never trailed.

The Valiant bats stayed hot as Manhattanville rolled to their eighth consecutive victory on a chilly afternoon, taking down Mount Saint Mary 14-7. As a team, the Valiants racked up 14 hits on the day, marking the eighth consecutive game with a double-digit hit total. Matt Coleman led the charge with two hits, two runs batted in, and a run scored. Kurt Hommen also drove in two runs on two hits, and Joe Anselmi and Robbie Lynch each tallied two RBI's on the day.

The #7 Emory Eagles won its fourth straight contest, defeating #6 Birmingham Southern for the second time in nine days, 8-3 at Chappell Park. Billy Dimlow stayed perfect on the mound during his rookie season moving to 6-0 on the year. Pitching for the first time in over two weeks, Dimlow tossed seven scoreless innings in the victory. He gave up just five hits to go along with three strikeouts and allowed just one runner to reach third in the outing.

Wesley tied their longest winning streak in the past three seasons, earning their sixth consecutive victory with an 8-3 win over CAC foe Penn State Harrisburg. Andrew Weaver set the tone for the Wolverines, pitching seven strong innings allowing just two runs on three hits while striking out five.

Seven Southern Maine pitchers combined to strike out 16 Bowdoin batters as the Huskies defeated the Polar Bears 7-2 in their home opener at the USM Baseball Stadium. Playing in cold conditions, the two teams combined for just 10 hits (five per side) and 25 strikeouts.  USM right-hander Shyler Scates, the fifth Husky hurler, was impressive in his two-inning stint striking out six consecutive Bowdoin hitters and picked up his fourth win of the season. Offensively Sam Dexter had two hits to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.
