MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - After eight seasons as head coach of the Warriors, Wisconsin Lutheran College head baseball coach Dave Reinemann has announced that he will step aside from his coaching duties to pursue a new endeavor.
Reinemann will be serving as a field worker in Tsuchiura, Japan for Kingdom Workers, a Christian non-profit mission organization. He begins his new venture on July 5.
"I'm blessed to have served WLC as baseball coach for the past eight years," said Reinemann. "I'd like to thank Coach Noon, Coach Miller, and the rest of WLC's leadership team for allowing me to have this opportunity and for their incredible support during my tenure. I would also like to thank Tyler Schmitt, Joel Musser, and the many other coaches that I've had the opportunity to coach alongside. Thanks to the players that I had the opportunity to work with and learn from, and most importantly, our Almighty God who provides all blessings and has allowed me to serve at this special place. I love WLC and its mission. Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!"
In eight seasons at the helm of the Warriors, Reinemann won 129 games, including 66 conference games, the most of any head coach in the program's 30-year history. Wisconsin Lutheran reached the 20-win plateau in both 2013 and 2014, the highest single-season win total in program history. Reinemann coached 15 players who received all-conference recognition, including two who garnered All-Region honors from D3baseball.com. The Warriors clinched their first NACC Tournament berth in 2013 and proceeded to win three tournament games, becoming the lowest-seeded team to ever reach the conference tournament championship. Reinemann's teams broke several season records, including hits, triples, stolen bases, fielding percentage, wins, saves, complete games, and shutouts.
"We are thankful for the time that Dave has spent as a member of our staff," said Director of Athletics Skip Noon. "He did a great job of recruiting, mentoring, and leading our baseball team. In addition, he was an invaluable member of our athletic administration, working behind the scenes in so many areas. We will miss Dave and his warm personality, but wish him God's richest blessings in his new endeavor."
