Dean College announces the hiring of Ernie May to lead their baseball program. May was most recently the Assistant Baseball Coach at Harvard University, and will be taking over a program that is in the transition stages of moving from the NJCAA to NCAA Division III.
May has an extensive resume having coached at the Division I, II, and III levels of college baseball as well as collegiate summer leagues. At the Division I level, May was assistant coach at Harvard and UMass-Amherst and Head Coach of Wofford College (South Carolina), which transitioned from D-II to D-I during his tenure. He was Head Coach of D-III Northland College (Wisconsin), where he was named the Conference Coach of the Year in 2014. As Graduate Assistant Coach at Springfield College, he helped lead the team to back to back Division II NCAA Regional Tournaments. May also served as the top Assistant Coach at Trinity College (Connecticut).
May earned his bachelor's degree at Keene State College, where he pitched and played first base for the Owls. He earned his master's degree from Springfield College and is in the dissertation phase of his doctoral degree from Drexel University.
