Webster and Washington & Jefferson will host two of the eight Regionals in the 56-game NCAA Playoffs again this year. UW-Whitewater will host for the first time since 2014. Each Regional winner will advance to the D-III College World Series in Appleton, Wisc. Action in all eight regional will occur between May 18-22 with the final round the following week opening on Friday May 26.
Webster has been approved to host the 2017 Central Regional of the NCAA III Playoffs. The 2017 Central Regional will take place at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, IL. This is the second straight year Webster has hosted the Central Regional. The 2016 Central Regional, well-received by participants, was the first baseball regional at any NCAA level in the St. Louis area since 2006. GCS Ballpark is home to the Gateway Grizzlies of the independent Frontier League and the Webster University baseball team. GCS Ballpark seats 6000 and is located off I-255 in Sauget, just north of Cahokia, in site of the Gateway Arch.
Washington & Jefferson College and Ross Memorial Park will once again serve as the host site for the Mideast Regional in 2017. Ross Memorial Park first served as the host site for the regional event in 2015 and once again in 2016. Completed in 2004, Ross Memorial Park joins with Alexandre Stadium to form a 233,000-square foot continuous turf playing surface, which was the largest of its kind at the time. The facility contains 400 chair-back seats in addition to a two-tiered press box, and an inning-by-inning scoreboard.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has been chosen to host the Midwest Regional at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium. The Warhawks last hosted the regional in 2014, the same season they won the program's second-ever national championship. That season ended a run of five straight years hosting the regional.
