Hilbert lived through a brief 10-minute rain delay in the middle of the seventh inning when they held a two-run lead. That interruption broke any comeback attempt that the Elmira Soaring Eagles were working on as the Hawks took an 11-8 non-conference victory over the hosts and improved to 6-1) on Tuesday. The Hawks earned 16 hits and finished with 10 RBIs.

Belhaven scored 20 runs in a game for the 15th time in program history en route to a 20-4 victory against Huntingdon from Smith-Wills Stadium. The Green and Gold eclipsed the 20-run plateau for the first time since 2012 when BU shut out Rust, 22-0, at Smith-Wills Stadium on Feb. 29, 2012. BU earned its first win against HC since 1981 after allowing 25 runs to the Hawks in last year's matchup. The Blazers scored in every inning but the sixth, and every player in the starting lineup recorded a hit and scored a run in the game.

Buena Vista secured its third straight series win to begin the Iowa Conference schedule after sweeping Tuesday's doubleheader at Nebraska Wesleyan by scores of 6-0 and 6-4. Porter Sartor had a big day at the plate for BVU, going 5-for-9, with a pair of RBI and two runs scored.  Four of those base knocks came in the opener, including a double.

The University of Dallas offense was extremely potent with its fourth contest to crack double-digits on the season with a 17-10 victory at Dallas Christian. Dallas sweeps the three games on the season versus the opposing Crusaders and won for the first time ever playing at the ballpark on DCC's campus. The Crusaders enjoyed notching several season-bests including: 23 hits, 15 RBI, six doubles, two triples, and three home runs. Thirteen players recorded a hit in the batting order for Dallas, with seven of them notching multi-hit days. Overall the visiting Crusaders totaled 42 bases and clubbed 11 extra base hits. These numbers are second highest in a single game for the program based on digital records through 2004.

Bethany Lutheran played its final non-conference games, against fellow UMAC member Martin Luther, before the UMAC season begins on Saturday. The Vikings and Knights split the doubleheader with the Knights taking game one 2-1 and BLC coming away with the 22-3 win in the second contest.

Freshman leadoff hitter Ryan Duphorn had two hits, three walks and five runs, and sophomore Jeff Butler drove in four as 16th-ranked Randolph-Macon outscored No. 23 Christopher Newport 12-9 in the day's only game between ranked teams. Rick Spiers took the mound in the ninth and retired CNU in order with one strikeout to record his fifth save. Freshman Matthew Nickles earned the win, going six innings with six hits and four runs with one walk and four strikeouts.

Trinity scored seven in the first inning and never looked back defeating the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders 24-4, sending at least one runner across the plate in each of the first six innings. UMHB scored a single run in the second to answer the big inning by the Tigers, then scored three more times in the fifth, but the Crusaders never got closer than six runs after the first inning. The Tigers added six in the fourth, four more in the fifth, and finished the game's scoring with a four-run sixth inning. Trinity pounded out 26 hits, which included four doubles, two triples, and two home runs.

Johns Hopkins broke open a 7-6 deficit at McDaniel with nine runs in the top of the sixth inning, ultimately defeating the Green Terror, 17-7, Tuesday. Senior Joe Conlon hit his second career home run, and senior Ryan Orgielewicz recorded five hits in the game.

Behind a stellar starting pitching performance from Joe Nagel and a seventh-inning offensive outburst, the Allegheny Gators earned a 6-4 road win in non-conference action at Baldwin Wallace. Nagel was masterful in the start, as he worked five innings and allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out four, needing just 60 pitches. Offensively, junior Cullen Flaherty led the charge, as he finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Senior Robert DiMaggio also had two hits, including an RBI triple that gave the Gators their first run.

Earlham scored three runs in consecutive innings to come from behind and defeat Bluffton 8-3 in HCAC action at Randal R. Sadler Stadium. The Quakers have taken the last seven games when the Beavers were their opponents.

Gettysburg exploded for seven runs in the second inning and the Bullets maintained at least a five-run lead the rest of the way en route to an 11-4 victory over Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference action at a sunny, windy Kirchhoff Field. Senior Aaron Bezio tossed three hitless and scoreless innings to close out the game for Gettysburg to earn his school-record seventh career save. Offensively, junior Chuck Probst finished 2-for-4 with a double, triple, and three RBIs while extending his  hitting streak to 27 games, dating back to last season. He now owns sole possession of the fourth-longest streak in Centennial Conference history.
