Doheny takes reins of Crown

St. Bonifacius, Minn. — Crown Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of new Head Baseball and Golf Coach Ryan Doheny. Doheny has been an assistant at Crown for five years and played collegiate baseball and basketball at Bethel University, where he graduated with a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies in 2010.

"We are proud to add Ryan to our staff and believe that he will provide outstanding leadership for our baseball and golf programs," said Athletic Director Jamie Ross.
 
As a senior at Bethel, Doheny started in the outfield and batted .361 for the year.  Doheny is originally from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area, competing for Anoka High School in multiple sports.
 
"Ryan has been an excellent fit at Crown during his tenure as an assistant, having the respect of the players and his fellow coaches," said Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Luke Herbert."I think Ryan has the tools to be an excellent coach and I'm excited to have him on board."
 
Coach Doheny comes to Crown from his role of Director of Operations at Prospectr Marketing. Doheny's coaching career has included working with athletes at Bloomington Jefferson High School as a fitness director with Fortis Academy, as a baseball instructor with Minnesota Twins Youth Camps and MVP clinics, and helping coach baseball at Bethel University. He had additionally served as the head baseball coach of the Anoka Bucs town team.
