For the second straight day, Justin Crider provided the heroics as he blasted a three-run walk-off homer to help the Eagles to a 8-7 game one win. The Eagles then completed the four-game sweep with a convincing 18-4 game two win. It is the first 4-0 start for the program since 2005. Crider, who ripped the game-winning double in Friday's game two win, wasn't done with his dramatics for the weekend. With two outs and runners on second and third, the left-handed Crider took a curveball and launched over the right field fence to send the Eagles into a frenzy.
Redlands faced off against the No. 22 Texas-Dallas on the second day of the Cactus Classic. Under pristine conditions in Tucson, AZ, a back-and-forth, offensive battle ensued that resulted in a knotted score through nine innings. Behind solid pitching, the Bulldogs scored one in the top of the 10th and held off the Comets in the bottom to secure the 9-8 victory. Arron Singh led off the 10th with a double before moving over to third on a sacrifice bunt by Nick Ono. Will Hall successfully laid down the squeeze play that gave Singh just enough time to sneak in from third for the 9-8 advantage.

University of Dallas swept Saturday's doubleheader on a chilly day over Mississippi University for Women. The Crusaders erupted for 10 runs through the first three innings of game one en route to an 11-4 final. Dallas had to erase a 3-run deficit in the second contest after being down 4-1 through three. A two-run blast by Seth Hanson helped begin the task in the fourth. After knotting the score at five in the fifth inning, the Crusaders set the stage for a walk-off in the seventh. Both games were scheduled for seven today, as Dallas improved to 3-3 overall with its third triumph of the series.
Senior Dylan Wright broke up a 1-1 tie with a three-RBI double to the gap in left-center field with the bases loaded, bases clearing to lead the Pacific Boxers to a 4-1 win over Whitworth. The Boxers' loaded the bases in the sixth inning against Whitworth reliever Hugh Smith, who brought the attention of numerous Major League baseball scouts to Chuck Bafaro Stadium, with his dominating 6'10 frame. With two outs, a pair of walks and a single loaded the bases for Wright. The senior right fielder from Gilbert, Arizona emptied the bases with a double to the spacious gap in left-center field to put the Boxers ahead for his third hit on the day. The Pirates, who lost its third consecutive, were led by a three-hit day by Joel Condreay, who were limited to four hits by a pair of Pacific pitchers Casey Brown and Cole Kanazawa. Whitworth rebounded with a 5-2 win over Pacific Lutheran.

Playing a total of nineteen combined innings in their doubleheader against Southwestern, East Texas Baptist came away with two big wins over the Pirates to complete the three-game sweep. In game one's seven-inning doubleheader, ETBU was able to pull out a 5-3 victory despite being out hit with clutch hits late in the game. Game two saw ETBU win a grueling twelve-inning contest by the score of 8-5. Zach Gartner led all Tiger hitters with three hits on the day.
With an original start time of 11am, Rhodes and Huntingdon finally took to the field around 1:30pm due to the weather. Rhodes led 6-2 headed into the bottom of the ninth when the Hawks loaded the bases with no outs. Junior Nick Bosma was called to the mound and boy did he deliver. Bosma struck out his first batter swinging. The Hawks scored on the next fielder's choice but a flyout ended the inning as Bosma earned his second save of the season.
Willamette overcame cold and windy coniditions to roll past Hardin-Simmons, 14-3, at AirHogs Stadium. Brandon Nelson, who started on the mound for the Bearcats, allowed just two runs (one earned) in six innings. Both teams battled the weather, which included a 32-degree temperature and plenty of wind. Even so, the Bearcats gained a 9-8 edge in hits during the game. Willamette also received 11 walks and took advantage of five errors by the Cowboys. Bearcat pitchers walked five batters, but also recorded eight strikeouts. The WU defense committed only one error. Pitchers for the Cowboys earned 11 strikeouts, but couldn't overcome the walks and the errors by the HSU defense.
Texas-Tyler jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning and cruised to a series sweep after earning a 14-7 win over La Verne at Irwin Field. The Patriots finished the game with a series high 15 hits and took the three-game series to open the season. Texas-Tyler starter Simon Sedillo earned the win after allowing only one run and five hits through five innings of work after his offense spotted him a six-run lead after the first inning and a 9-0 lead through three innings. Blake Maddox hit a two-run single down the right-field line and Tanner Roach had an RBI single to highlight the first-inning run production for the Patriots
The 21st-ranked Trinity (Texas) Tigers continued its opening weekend with a 6-0 shutout win over Houston-Victoria. The two teams played five scoreless innings to start the game, with Trinity being held hitless during that time, and Houston-Victoria managing just three hits. James Nittoli had four strikeouts in the first two innings and also induced a double play in the third to allow the Tiger offense to settle into the game. The Tigers turned a leadoff single in the sixth into a run, as Jake Martin drove home Brian Cardone with a two-out hit to give Trinity a 1-0 lead. With two outs in the seventh, Joey Pecoraro broke the game wide open with a three-run homer on a full count that came with two outs in the inning. Michael Davis stroked a run-scoring double and Michael Goodrich had an RBI single in the seventh to finish off the game's scoring. Houston-Victoria's biggest threat came on a leadoff double and a one-out walk to put two runners on the seventh. Brendan Meyer settled in to end the threat with an inning-ending strikeout and held the home team hitless over the final two frames.
