Trailing by two heading to the ninth, Drew scored three to go ahead before Stevens tied it in the bottom half of the inning on Wednesday afternoon. The Rangers then erupted for five runs in the top of the 10th to notch an 11-6 victory over the Ducks at Dobelaar Field. After having their game against Brockport on Saturday called due to snow in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Rangers played in picture-perfect conditions on Wednesday. On a 70-degree day that was more reminiscent of mid-April than mid-February.
Sophomore Shawn Nickles smacked a pair of home runs and drove in three as Randolph-Macon defeated Marymount 11-1 Wednesday afternoon on Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park. The Yellow Jackets hit a total of four homers in the victory over the Saints. Senior Joseph Tuzzolo and junior Grant Huckestein also went deep for the victors.

Catholic advanced its 2018 record to 3-0 after it topped St. Mary's (Maryland) 5-3. Junior Bailey Lewis registered two hits in three at-bats and recorded one run and one RBI while sophomore Connor Sullivan drove in two runs. On the mound, senior David Gately struck out seven batters in five innings to earn his first win of the year. Sophomore Ross Dean came on in relief to strike out six batters in four innings and complete his first career save.
Six Maryville hurlers combined to three-hit Emory & Henry allowing the Scots to claim an 8-0 shutout victory over the Wasps on MC's Scotland Yard. Starter Luke Williams earned the win after allowing only one hit over the first three innings of action. Jacob Gossett equaled William's numbers while getting the Scots through six complete innings. Joe Logsdon, Kevin Black, Bleu Butcher, and Trevor Townsend nailed down the final three innings allowing only one combined hit. Maryville's 14-hit offensive attack was paced by Andrew Henry's 3-for-4 afternoon. Alden Wright added a 2-for-3 effort while driving in a game-high pair of runs.
With temperatures soaring into the 70s, Messiah baseball opened the 2018 season with a 17-6 rout of Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons scored in every inning except the third, including back-to-back four-run innings in the eighth and ninth. Messiah tallied 18 hits and four walks in the contest and converted those baserunners into runs at a high rate, scoring 17 and only leaving seven on base. Seven different Falcons recorded at least two hits. Dan Wiederrecht led the Falcons from the batter's box, reaching base in four of five plate appearances including two hits, two walks, three runs scored, a home run, and four RBI. Freshman Trent Culver was impressive in his college debut, notching three hits and scoring three times. Coliv Fry and Hunter Brindle also collected three hits for Messiah, and Trey Pritchard chipped in with three RBI on two hits.

No. 12 Shenandoah opened up its 2018 season with a doubleheader sweep over Lancaster Bible. The Hornets were 1-0 winners in eight innings in the opener before taking game two, 9-1. SU received a pair of solid performances from starting pitchers Colin Morse and Robert Klinchock in taking out the Chargers. In the opener, Morse, the 2017 ODAC Pitcher of the Year, struck out nine, walked just one and allowed only two hits in 7.0 innings but came away with the no decision as the Hornets left seven men on base. Junior Cole DuBois (1-0) pitched a scoreless eighth, working around a one-out single by inducing a 4-3 double play, to earn the victory in his first SU appearance. Shenandoah scored two runs in both the second and third, one each in the fourth and fifth and three in the sixth to give Klinchock (1-0) plenty of breathing room in the nightcap. The junior struck out five, walked three and allowed the one run on three hits in 5.0 innings to pick up the victory.
Methodist earned a 4-1 win against Washington and Lee to finish a two-game series sweep at Armstrong-Shelley Field. With the win, the Monarchs have won six straight games and are now 7-1 on the season. Meanwhile, the Generals drop their third consecutive game and fall to 4-3 on the year. For the Monarchs, Tristen Luck, who is the reigning USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Week, picked up the win after throwing 3.0 innings and allowing just one run on two hits with three strikeouts. Will Walker, the fifth reliever, entered in the ninth to record his fourth save of the year. Alex Kachler finished 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and three RBI, while Ethan Carmack scored twice. The Monarchs combined for seven hits and drew four walks in the win.
Christopher Newport junior Jordan Mason registered hits in each of his first five at-bats leading an offensive explosion against Virginia Wesleyan on a beautiful afternoon at Captains Park, 17-0. The Captains scored 11 runs in the first inning, highlighted by a grand slam from Nicholas Baham and a three-run triple by Mason in his second at-bat of the inning. The Captains improved to 5-2 overall this season with the dominating offensive performance, which was also paired with an impressive pitching effort holding the Marlins to just three hits in the team's second shutout of the season. Rookie Gray Goodrich impressed in his first collegiate start, tossing five shutout innings with just two hits allowed. He struck out 7 batters, including five over the first three innings.
Kean combined for 15 strikeouts on the day to help propel the Cougars to a 4-2 win over Widener in non-conference action. Southpaw Ian Fitzgerald picked up the win after fanning 11 in his season debut. He scattered two hits while allowing just one run. Rookie Daniel Chiusano earned his second save in a week with a two inning performance. He struck out three while allowing no runs and no hits.
