No 13 Methodist collected a season-high 19 hits and plated 15 runs, also a season best, on its way to a 15-1 victory against Berea in USA South play at Armstrong-Shelley Field on Friday afternoon. With the win, the Monarchs improve to 15-2 on the season and a perfect 7-0 in conference play. Also, Methodist is now 10-0 at home this season, which is the best home record through 10 games in recent program history. The win also marks the seventh time this year that the Monarchs have scored at least 10 runs in a game.

Otterbein limited the Giants to a .152 batting average as they shut out Keystone 10-0. Senior pitcher Stevie Yuran put on a masterful performance for Otterbein, striking out 11 and walking only one batter in going the distance to even his record to 1-1.  He limited the Giants to just four singles. Offensively, the Cardinals pounded out 14 hits, including two each by juniors Tyler Thompson and Connor Britt and seniors Dom Guzzi, Bryan Stopar, and Pat Birrer.  Britt inflicted most of the damage, driving in five runs with a three-run triple in the second inning and a two-run single in the ninth.

Alvernia swept a pair of games against Defiance on the final day of the Golden Wolves spring break trip to Ft. Myers, Florida. The Golden Wolves took a 10-5 win in the first game of the day and a 4-2 win to close out the day. With the two wins, Alvernia finished its spring break trip with a 7-1 record.

The 25^th-ranked Rowan University held off #24 Salve Regina, 10-8 at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Profs improve to 4-1 overall while the Seahawks have a 1-1 record. Second baseman Alex Kokos was three-for-six with three runs scored. First baseman Anthony Harrold and third baseman Justin Provost each had two hits and three RBIs. Provost also scored a run.

Muhlenberg closed out its Spring Break trip to Florida on a high note, sweeping Waynesburg in a doubleheader. After squandering some solid pitching performances earlier in the week, the Mules broke out their bats, combining for 18 runs and 22 hits in 13 innings in the 8-0, 10-9 sweep.

RIT opened the 2018 season by defeating Penn State-Altoona by a score of 9-3 at Lake Myrtle Field. The Tigers scored a run in each of the first two innings before blowing the game open with six runs in the third inning to take a commanding 8-0 lead. The Lions would score a run in the third, sixth and ninth innings, but was not nearly enough to threaten. RIT's offense slammed 13 hits. Navada Waterman provided a jolt from the leadoff spot in the lineup, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored, two runs batted in and a stolen base. Daniel Zeglen was 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs batted in, while Dom Scialabba doubled twice and drove in a run. Patrick Mylott added two.

Junior lefty Alex Baez shut down the Chapman offense at Hugh B. Mendez Stadium as Whittier held on for the 2-1 victory. The win is the second in a row for the Purple & Gold as they improve to 9-8, 3-7 SCIAC, while Chapman drops to 8-6, 2-5 SCIAC. Baez threw a complete game gem giving up a run on six hits with six strikeouts as he picked up his third win on the season.  His counterpart from Chapman, Matt Mogollon also threw a complete game but suffered the loss giving up two runs on six hits, which included the nail in the coffin from Brandon Mulrooney who drove a deep solo shot to dead center in the 4^th that proved the game-winner.

With another shutdown performance on the hill from Joey Rogers the top-ranked Beacons registered their fourth straight win as they defeated St. John Fisher by the final of 7-0  at Henley Field in the first game of their 2018 spring trip. Rogers registered five strikeouts, and allowed seven hits and just two walks in six innings of work.

The USMMA defeated Pitt-Bradford, 14-6, down at the Cusic Classic in Florida. With the victory, the Mariners improve to 5-1 on the season, while the Panthers fall to 5-3. Leading the Mariners was junior Jesse Reinebold who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored and classmate Zack Winzer who was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs. Two other Mariners contributed two RBIs each – junior Kyle Cunningham and freshman Alex Mesaros – and they both scored once.

Hood remained unbeaten in 2018 and ran its streak of 10-plus run games to five in a doubleheader sweep over Central Penn. The Blazers took the opener 13-1 and won the nightcap 10-2 despite cold temperatures and gusting winds. Drake Friend hit the first home run for Hood in the opener and Eric Turner homered in game two. Friend, Quinn Fulton, Dylan Beck and Daiven Sanchez each had three hits games during the doubleheader. Paul Jackson and Chris Devine picked up wins on the mound.

Saint John's (Minn.) ended its spring-break trip with an 11-6 win over Thiel. SJU erased a 5-1 deficit with six runs on seven hits in the fifth inning and added four more runs in the seventh for good measure. The Johnnies and Tomcats combined for 29 hits and 19 men left on base on the day. Senior second baseman Brennan Swan went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI from the No. 8 spot in the lineup and sophomore shortstop Michael Gruber posted a 3-for-4 performance with two runs scored and a pair of RBI from the No. 9 spot in the win.

La Verne scored a win over one of the top NCAA Division III teams in the nation, beating the No. 8 Centenary (La.) Gentlemen 9-7. The Leopards improve to 8-5 overall with their second win over a top-10 opponent this season. La Verne opened SCIAC play with a pair of wins over then No. 2 Cal Lutheran. The Gentlemen fall to 7-4 overall. In a wild game that featured 24 hits and seven errors, the Leopards took the lead for the final time in the bottom of the sixth inning when Nicholas Michaels and Jakob Thomas crossed the plate after a throwing error by Centenary. Michaels led La Verne offensively finishing 3-5 at the plate with an RBI, a double, and a run scored. Christopher Peres had a big game for La Verne, scoring twice with one hit. The junior stepped onto the mound in the final inning, striking out one and earning the save.

Immaculata extended its win streak to three - and evened its record in Fort Pierce, Fla. on the week - with a doubleheader sweep of Hilbert by finals of 17-3 and 6-5. The Macs put up plenty run support for Billy Manzo in game one, who tossed five innings and struck out eight en route to his first win, before Justin Dempsey provided the walk-off win in game two to complete the sweep over the Hawks. Tristan Ryan was 5-for-6 in the doubleheader and scored four runs, including a leadoff triple in the seventh inning where he eventually came across to score the winning run. Tyler Kmiec was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in game one to lead the IU offense.

Junior Donny Gherardi and sophomore Patrick Rood each delivered two-out run-scoring hits, junior Danny Poidomani struck out eight over 8 1-3 shutout innings, and Stevens returned to the win column with a tidy 6-0 shutout of SUNY New Paltz in non-conference action at a chilly Dobbelaar Field. Junior Matthew Pasko walked twice, stole a base, and scored a pair of runs and senior Tommy Baronner had an RBI single as the Ducks improved to 2-4 on the year. Stevens has strung together 21 straight scoreless innings over its last three meetings with the Hawks. Stevens scored five of its six runs with two outs.

Wheaton (Ill.) swept a doubleheader from Bethany Lutheran in the Tucson Invitation. Wheaton won game one 12-5 in six innings and came from behind for a 5-4 victory in game two. With the wins, Wheaton improves its record to 5-3 this season. Bethany Lutheran is now 4-4. Wheaton will close out its trip on Saturday morning against Cornell College.  Wheaton scored its 12 runs in the opener on 12 hits with no errors while holding the Vikings to five runs on eight hits while committing five errors. In the nightcap, Wheaton scored its five runs on 10 hits with three errors. Bethany Lutheran tallied four runs on six hits with two errors.

King's rallied with three runs in the seventh inning to defeat Trine 5-3 in the first of two games at the Chain O'Lakes Stadium in Winter Haven. Trine won the nightcap 14-7. Matt Mellinger increased his hitting streak to six games to begin his collegiate career with two hits and a run scored in the loss to Trine.

The St. Vincent Bearcats were 7-3 winners over Anderson in game one of a doubleheader in Auburndale, Florida, then dropped game two by a score of 18-12 in extra innings. Patrick McElfish led the Bearcat offense with two hits and four RBI in game one. In game two the Ravens managed six runs on just two hits in the ninth for the win. St. Vincent earlier tied the game with two runs in the ninth to take the seven inning contest into extra frames.

Ryan Hill's two-out, ninth-inning walk-off single gave Guilford a 10-9, comeback win over Wittenberg. The victory completed a sweep of the visiting Tigers after the Quakers took a 5-4 win in the opener of the two seven-inning contests. The Quakers erased two four-run deficits in game two, holding the lead twice. In the opener, Guilford won with just two hits but were aided by five Wittenberg errors.

Juniors Austin Lindner and Ryan Tropeano each went 3-for-4 and combined for five runs scored as WPI won the second game of a baseball doubleheader with Anna Maria at the RussMatt Invitational. The AMCATS (3-5) won the opener 4-3 while the Engineers (4-4) took the nightcap 13-3.
