Lancaster Bible College and the Lancaster Bible College Athletic Department are pleased to announce that Frank DiFilippo ('13) has been named Interim Head Baseball Coach for the 2018-19 academic year. DiFilippo has served as the Chargers' main assistant coach for the past five seasons, and takes over for TJ Horn, who led the Chargers over the past six years.

DiFilippo, whose main jobs as an assistant, included recruiting, scouting, practice preparation, and team defense, will begin full-time with the Chargers immediately, and will also serve as the game manager for men's and women's soccer, as well as field hockey.

In addition to his coaching resume at Lancaster Bible, DiFilippo was also a standout player for the Chargers, as he played from 2010-2013. During that time, the Chargers won the NCCAA East Region twice, and DiFilippo was named to the NCCAA East Region First Team four times. He was also named NCCAA East Region Player of the Year during the 2011 season, and was a NEAC All-Conference First Team selection in 2012.

"I'm excited about the amount of student-athletes we have been able to add over the past few seasons, and make the program grow," DiFilippo said. "We are bringing in 10-12 guys a year, and have a strong foundation of upperclassmen leadership."

DiFilippo said one of the things he was most excited about was being at the college full-time, and being able to further his relationship with his players.

"I'm pumped to be here full-time, and looking forward to being here day-after-day and build stronger relationships, rather than being here part-time, and not being able to be there at all times for the guys," DiFilippo said. "It's my job, and our staff's job, to be preparing these guys to be Christian husbands, fathers, and overall solid people in their workplace, church and society."

As was the case with Coach Horn, DiFilippo will be coaching at his alma mater, something he doesn't take lightly.

"Coach Horn has built this program, and gave me a great opportunity to learn over the past few seasons," DiFilippo said. "I'm excited to be able to recruit and coach at my alma mater, and sell the college experience at such a great place. I'm thankful to Pete Beers to afford me this opportunity, and I'm looking forward to quickly getting started."

Lancaster Bible Director of Athletics Pete Beers echoed DiFilippo's comments about opportunity, and development of our student-athletes.

"Frank has conducted himself above reproach in the process of the unknown, and we are pleased to offer him this opportunity," Beers said. "We look forward to seeing his leadership expand the horizons of our baseball program, and Lord-willing, the young men will continue to develop and make a positive impact on the student life at our institution."
