Three pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts to lead RPI to a 7-1 victory over Anna Maria, on Tuesday night at Osceola Heritage Park. With the win, the Engineers improve to 2-2, while the Amcats drop to 4-2. Sophomore Ryan Yerby, who started the game for RPI, allowed just two hits over the first 4.0 innings, striking out five without a walk. He threw 58 pitches and relieved by senior Kyle LaMantia to start the fourth. He struck out one and gave up one hit to earn the win. Sophomore Chris Grome picked up the 4.0-inning save, striking out nine batters, with one walk. He gave up a run on five hits.
Eastern Nazarene split a twinbill with Hood at Bob Gladwin Stadium. The Lions prevailed 5-4 in extra-innings in game one on a walk-off hit to snap the Blazers' 21-game winning-streak against non-conference opponents. Hood battled back to claim the nightcap 3-2 to salvage the doubleheader-split. Steven Pesce posted seven hits on the day to go with four RBIs, two stolen bases, and one run scored. Anthony Esposito landed seven base knocks, scored three runs, and drove in one RBI.
Behind another stellar outing from starter Luke Summers, Fontbonne improved to 7-0 overall after a 6-0 win over Emerson. Summers struck out 11 in seven innings on the mound, scattering nine hits and walking one. Summers hasn't allowed a run in his last 15.0 innings of work. Jonathon Hoevelmann extended his hit streak to five after going 3-for-4 with three runs scored. He also stole a season-high four bases.
Kyle Rogalski and Kyle Melahn combined on a five-hitter to lift No. 21 Misericordia to a 2-1 win over Moravian in Port Charlotte, FL. Rogalski struck out four and scattered five hits over six innings to earn the win and Melahn tossed three hitless innings to notch the save. Billy Kerwein had two hits and an RBI and Steve Weisensee added two hits. Dalton Emerich scored both of MU's runs and Sean Boylan added an RBI.
Moravian rallying to force extra inning and then defeat Baldwin-Wallace , 4-2 in 11 innings. The Hounds had five hits in the game versus Misericordia with junior second baseman Ian Csencsits going 2-for-4. Freshman Eddie Olsen made his first career start on the mound and allowed two runs on six hits and two walks to go with a pair of strikeouts in six innings of action. Junior Connor Morro tossed the other three innings and recorded five strikeouts and allowed just one hit.

Saint John's (Minn.) picked up another sweep, 8-0 and 9-2, against Bluffton, in Ft. Myers, Fla. Three pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout in game one and the Johnnies (4-0 overall) scored nine unanswered runs, including five in the bottom of the sixth inning, in game two to complete the sweep. Overall, the Johnnies' pitching staff struck out 29 and gave up eight hits in 14 innings of play. Senior Danny Kuhn scattered three hits and struck out 11 in five innings of work to earn the win in game one. Sophomore Nick Penick and freshman Nathan Brandecker each pitched a scoreless inning of relief to complete the shutout. Junior Joey Stock picked up the win in game two, allowing the two runs on four hits. He struck out eight in four innings on the hill. Brandecker pitched two more innings of scoreless relief and senior Bennett Wiggins made his first appearance of the season, a 1-2-3 seventh inning.
Mitch Rickabaugh came through in a clutch situation with his RBI-single in the bottom of the ninth to lift Lebanon Valley over Dominican 7-6 in spring-break action. The Flying Dutchmen improved to 5-0, while the Stars dropped to 3-4. LVC is now off to its best start in over 18 years. To begin the bottom of the ninth, Josh Marcelli snuck a base hit through the left side. Tanner Rock came in as a pinch hitter, and next up was TJ Holdredge, who sacrificed Rock over to second with a well-placed bunt to put the winning run in scoring position. After Ethan Hurd was intentionally walked, Nick O'Shea grounded out to third, but that moved the runners to second and third. Josh Herring then walked to load the bases for Rickabaugh. On an 0-2 count, Rickabaugh hit a ground ball to the shortstop and beat it out, allowing Rock to score to give LVC a thrilling 7-6.
Defiance took on Ohio foe Hiram, defeating the Terriers 6-4 in the first game and following up with an 8-4 victory. Strong pitching from DC helped paved the way to the duo of wins. In the first matchup of the day Michael Reese got the start, allowing just one run in each of the first two innings. The sophomore allowed six hits in six innings, while striking out six. In a sophomore switch on the mound, Jack Powell was handed the ball. Powell faced 10 Terrier batters, striking out two and walking one, worthy of picking up his first win of the year. Daniel Tomalak took the mound first in the second matchup. After going for five innings and allowing three runs, the ball was once again handed over to a fellow sophomore. Cohen Nies took over for one inning, allowing one run on one hit. The Logansport, Ind. native picked up his first win in his season debut. Offensively on the day, Grant Vickery picked up four RBIs on six at-bats to lead the Purple and Gold. Lucas Thomeier added three, while Tanner Stippich tallied two.

St. John Fisher exploded for 15 runs and put together a season-high 21 hits as the Cardinals defeated John Carroll, 15-9. Anthony Brophy made his first start of the season and went three innings where the junior lefty allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits. Kenneth Westbrook earned the win in relief as the freshman allowed three runs in 2.2 innings to go along with one strikeout. Allen Murphy, who notched the walk-off hit in Monday's win, went 4-for-6 at the dish with two RBI and a pair of runs scored. Antony Mantova was 3-for-6 with a team-high three RBI while freshman Jack Kelleher had three hits in five at-bats. Michael Beimel was 2-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored while Thomas Pasquale scored three runs and came away with two hits. Ryan Simmons was 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs while Stephen Edgett had two doubles.
After putting up just single digits in a pair of middle innings, Methodist went for big numbers in back-to-back late innings to finish off host Hampden-Sydney in a 13-10 non-conference victory. A six-run seventh and four-run eighth propelled, both times, the Monarchs ahead from deficits against the Tigers Matthias Carter proved a difficult out for the Tiger hurlers, finishing the afternoon 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles. He scored three times and came away with one stolen base.
Lynchburg nailed down a road win Tuesday with its best offensive day of the season in a 9-5 victory at William Peace. The Hornets' scoring output was their best of the 2019 campaign, as were their 15 hits. Graduate student right fielder Kinston Carson went 4-for-5 on the day and drove in a pair of runs, and freshman third baseman PJ Alvanos also had two hits and drove in two runs. Sophomore second baseman Parker Shaffer enjoyed his time in the leadoff spot for the Hornets, going 2-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Freshman catcher Kaden Warren also had a three-hit day for Lynchburg. Freshman right-hander Garrett Jackson earned the win on the mound, allowing just one earned run on 3 ⅔ innings pitched.
Sophomore second baseman Seth Sparks ripped a walk-off RBI single up the middle to give Southwestern a 5-4 victory over the Texas-Dallas Comets in a 12-inning, four-hour nail-biter. Austin Smith took the mound for the Pirates, giving another dominant start in a game-long pitching duel that spanned across both teams' bullpens. Trey Schwarz retired the side in the 12th inning, setting the stage for Sparks' heroics to give the Pirates their fifth win of the season at 5-2.
Following a tough 6-3 setback to then-No. 24 Berry Sunday in the final game of the weekend-long series, Hendrix (11-3) returned back to its winning ways with a 3-0 shutout victory against University of the Ozarks (6-10) from a cold Warrior Baseball Field. Bryce DeLay logged his first collegiate home start against the Eagles and for the second time in less than two weeks, Hendrix shut out Ozarks (defeated the Eagles 7-0 Feb. 20 from Conway). Delay tossed six scoreless innings and fanned four and picked up his first-ever victory while three Warriors logged two-hit days and Tom Flisk recorded his first hit of the year.

Tim Ortega went 4-4 with a double and a solo home run, scored two runs and drove in a pair as Ferrum posted a 5-0 non-conference win over Averett at Panther Field. Ortega's double in the fourth inning drove in Ferrum's first run. Kyle Anstice then had an RBI single and Jake Mumpower had a sacrifice fly later in the frame to score two more and put Ferrum out in front 3-0. Parker Mason's RBI double to left center in the seventh inning drove in another run, then Ortega blasted a solo shot over the left field fence in the eighth to close out scoring. Starter Drew Calohan got the win, scattering four hits over eight innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
Griffin Tubbs picked up his first win of the year on the hill, and Ben Closson led the offense as the Houghton Highlanders picked up their first win of the year over the Penn State-Behrend Lions, 7-2. Tubbs scattered seven hits over seven innings of work, striking out five, allowing only one unearned run in the first inning, and did not issue a single walk. Closson picked up his first hit of the game in the first, laced a two-out, two-RBI triple to centerfield in the third, and struck again in the fourth, tripling over the outfield for another RBI. Behrend picked up another run in the eighth to cut the Houghton lead to five, but Jared Couch closed out the game for Houghton with a scoreless ninth.
Birmingham-Southern defeated the Roanoke Maroons 7-3, extending its win streak to eight games. The Panther offense scored throughout the game, including putting up crooked numbers in the fourth and seventh innings.
Mother Nature may have delayed Ohio Northern's contest against Albion for several hours, but not even she could prevent the Polar Bears from posting a 7-5 victory over the Britons at the Lake Myrtle Main complex in Auburndale, Fla. With the victory, ONU levels its 2019 record at 2-2 overall. Meanwhile, the Britons fall to 2-3 overall following the nonconference loss. On the mound, Klinehoffer was awarded the victory after coming on in relief after the rain delay. He tossed three innings, struck out two batters, and walked just one to earn his first pitching victory this season.
Having to cling to a tight lead throughout much of the game, East Texas Baptist would use a pair of insurance runs late to pick up a 6-3 victory over Millsaps. ETBU is now 8-6 on the season and completes the sweep of the series with Millsaps. Landen Barns, Zach Gartner, and Jack Hanstad would help ETBU's offense with two-hit games as Barns and Hanstad picked up a RBI. ETBU used five pitchers for all nine innings as starting pitcher Alan Underwood lasted four innings allowing three runs on six hits. Adrian Stover collected his first win going 3.1 innings of no-hit ball while striking out five batters. Call Florence picked up his first save of the season with a perfect ninth inning. On MC's side, William Warner was the only Major with two hits while he and Mason Little collected an RBI. Connor Hayes suffered the loss with one inning under his belt allowing three runs on two hits while striking out two batters.
