The Ephs pounded out 36 hits and 21 runs in the two contests, holding on to defeat the Blue Jays 9-8 in a morning contest and then rallying to defeat the Royals, 12-3, in an afternoon game. Williams improved to 5-0 with the wins. The Ephs have a newly scheduled 1 p.m. game against Denison Saturday in Port Charlotte. Eph senior Doug Schaffer went 7 for 9 with 9 RBI in the two-game sweep. In a match-up between programs that produced a 2016 NCAA Division III national title (Trinity) and a 2018 NCAA Division III national runner-up finish (TLU), Trinity took the early upper hand in the race for the top of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2019. TLU fell to 13-6 overall and to 0-1 in the SCAC. The Tigers are 1-0 in the SCAC. Jake Martin delivered a two-RBI single in the second and homered in the eighth for Trinity.
