Senior Eric Jaun went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, and No. 10 Babson erased a four-run deficit on its way to defeating No. 3 Southern Maine, 9-8, in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon at Govoni Field. With its seventh consecutive win, Babson improves to 24-4, while Southern Maine slips to 21-5. Junior Sean Harrington went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while senior Brian McHale singled twice and scored once for the Beavers. Junior Matthew Valente drove in a pair of runs and senior Nicholas Browne and juniors Jake Oliger and Alex DiMartino chipped in with an RBI apiece in the victory. Sophomore Ryan Vatcher earned his first career win with an inning of relief, while senior Max Tannenbaum recorded his sixth save of the year for Babson.
Senior Nathan Sides became the all-time hits leader at Alvernia and the Golden Wolves (21-10-4, 12-4) defeated Stevenson (15-18, 7-9) by an 8-1 final Thursday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action at Angelica Park. Sides drove in a run in the first on a sacrifice fly, ripped a singled to left in the third to tie the hits record at 259, and doubled down the right field line in the sixth to drive in a pair and pass Alvernia Hall of Famer Eric Bonds (2003-06) for the most hits in a career. Sides currently leads the nation in hits this season with 68 and is fifth in average at .507.

Cam Karnik threw a complete game and allowed just two runs, and the Allegheny Gators gave him seven runs of support in the second inning en route to an 8-2 nonconference home win over La Roche. With the victory, Allegheny moves to 15-12 overall this season behind a four-game winning streak. La Roche, co-leaders of the AMCC, drops to 17-10 overall. Karnik entered the game with six relief appearances totaling 7.2 innings. On Thursday, he threw 9.0 innings and scattered 11 hits on 124 pitches. The freshman earned his first win by surrendering just a pair of runs and striking out six, while walking two and hitting a batter. On a windy day at Robertson, Karnik got 11 outs in the air and 10 on the ground.

Sophomore Tucker Hetherman’s RBI single in the top of the sixth plated the go-ahead run to lead UMass Dartmouth to a 6-3 non-league victory over Western New England at Trelease Park. JR DiSarcina, Mike Knell and Jack Harrington each had two hits as part of an eight hit attack in the triumph for UMass Dartmouth, as freshman Jon Levy earned his first collegiate victory after striking out two in 2/3 of an inning. Freshman Chase Stafford scattered two hits and fanned a pair over the first four frames for the Corsairs, which also received a pair of strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work from senior All-America Matt Cronin. Senior Corey Martinez tossed 108 pitches during a complete-game effort and William Paterson (20-10, 6-5 NJAC) crossed the plate four times in the eighth inning, securing a 5-1 home victory against Rutgers-Newark (9-15, 3-8 NJAC). Dan Abate was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. Carson Weis went 2-for-4 and touched home once. Martinez improved to 5-0, scattering six hits and registering a pair of strikeouts while tossing his third career complete game.
No. 4 Rowan defeated No. 7 TCNJ, 6-2 in NJAC action. This is the second win for the Profs over the Lions, giving the Profs first place in the conference standings with a 10-2 NJAC mark. The Lions a game behind at 9-3 in the conference. Center fielder Matt Woods, shortstop Dillon Mendel, first baseman Anthony Harrold, right fielder Eric Schorr, catcher Steven Hewa and second baseman Nick Schooley all tallied two hits for Rowan. Mendel had two runs batted in (RBI) and one run. Harrold, Hewa and Schooley chipped in a RBI apiece. Right-hander Danny Serreino earned the win on the mound (3-2), pitching seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs and striking out 11 batters.

Dan Hartson went 4-for-6 at the plate and pitched a complete game to lead King's College to an important split with visiting Misericordia from Lipo Field in Wilkes-Barre. The Cougars won the opener 7-0 before King's won the nightcap 5-1. The split allows the first-place Cougars (24-10, 13-5 MAC Freedom) to win the season series over the Monarchs (14-16, 10-8 MAC Freedom) while the King's win keeps them fourth in conference standings with just three games left. KC is three games ahead of Wilkes and Delaware Valley have been eliminated from postseason contention.

Wilson took on the Nittany Lions of Penn State Altoona in a nonconference game. The Phoenix (15-7, 4-2 CSAC) defeated the Lions (19-12, 8-5 AMCC) by a final sore of 11-5. The Phoenix pitched eight today as freshman Brenden Johnson went on to earn his second win of the season. Rinehart finished the game going 2-4 with a walk and a homerun, freshman Hunter Cheek went 3-4, and Astle went 1-3 with four RBIs. The Phoenix would finish the game scoring 11 runs on nine hits and two errors while holding their opponent to five runs with eight hits and two errors.
Bates grabbed a 3-0 lead but the visiting Husson Eagles scored 15 unanswered runs to defeat the Bobcats 15-3 in eight innings at Leahey Field. The game was called after eight innings on account of darkness. Husson (17-14) tallied 13 hits in the contest while holding Bates (11-12) to four hits. The Bobcats committed four errors and the Eagles committed two errors. Alex Brooks (3-1) earned the win on the mound for Husson, going five innings, giving up three runs, all unearned, on three hits. He walked three and struck out one.
Immaculata used five home runs from five different players Thursday afternoon at Cairn in non-conference action, as the Mighty Macs went on to rout the Highlanders behind another big offensive performance, 12-3. Pete Zielinski, Ty Esenwein and Tom Prato each hit their first-career home runs in the effort, while Richard Fontanillas and Connor Blesi added solo shots of their own. Senior Zach Smiley made his first-career start on the mound for the Macs and made the most of his opportunity, as the conference-leader in saves went six strong innings allowing one run on four hits to pick up his second win of the season.
Fifth-ranked Texas Lutheran run-ruled Austin 14-4 on a walk-off home run in the seventh inning from freshman shortstop Joe Jimenez. Jimenez's home run, his first at the collegiate level, pushed the TLU advantage to 10 and ended the game early. TLU moved its overall record to 25-8 and its win streak to six games. The Bulldogs, in first place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, improved to 10-3 in the SCAC. Austin fell to 7-21 overall and to 3-10 in the SCAC. Jimenez went 4-for-4, drove in four, and scored three times. He had a two-RBI triple in the second and an RBI single in the third. Thomas Varner, Cole Irby and Cullen Motsinger each drove in a pair of runs. Irby went 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
Ursinus put on an incredible display of power hitting in an overwhelming 22-9 rout of Muhlenberg at Thomas Field. The junior duo of Alex Mumme and Dom Fiorentino led the 22-run, 19-hit onslaught as they both crushed a pair of home runs to give the Bears a sweep of the Mules. It's believed to be the first time in school history that a pair of Ursinus sluggers left the yard twice in a game. Ursinus also posted its most runs in a Centennial Conference game since a 24-1 victory over Swarthmore in 2001. Mumme's two blasts (a solo shot and grand slam) set the single-season and career records at Ursinus. He ended the day with ten homers for the season, moving his career total to 22.

Junior Mark Levesque struck out nine over eight innings and Plymouth State held off a late rally to top Newbury, 10-8, in a non-conference game at the New England Baseball Complex on Thursday. Levesque had his best start as a Panther, scattering six hits and giving up just two runs (one earned) to record his first win of the year. PSU scored runs in each of the first five innings to build an 8-0 lead. Newbury broke through with two runs in the eighth, but Plymouth State got them back in the ninth to lead 10-2. The Nighthawks sent 11 men to the plate in the bottom of the inning, cutting the margin to 10-8, and getting the tying runs into scoring position with just one out, but junior Alex Larson got the final two outs to preserve the win.
Cortland scored three times in the bottom of the eighth inning - after Oswego rallied from an early 9-0 deficit to tie the game – and the Red Dragons defeated the Lakers, 13-10, in the first game of a SUNYAC doubleheader. Cortland also won the second game, 4-2, to improve to 14-0 in league play and 25-9-1 overall. Cortland and Oswego (22-10, 11-3 SUNYAC) will play the final game of the series Friday at 11 a.m. – the game time has been moved up due to poor weather expected later in the day.
Playing in the first of four road conference games in the next four days, the Christopher Newport Captains shook off the rust from not playing in over a week to capture an 8-7 win at Southern Virginia (13-11, 4-8) on Thursday afternoon. Conner Clark led the attack with four hits, a pair of steals, and three runs scored. Christopher Newport improved to 25-3 overall with a 12-1 mark in conference play in the makeup game after last weekend's series at Southern Virginia was washed out due to rainfall. CNU has now won 25 or more games in four straight seasons for the first time since 2002-05 and it is the 14th time in 19 seasons under head coach John Harvell that CNU has won 25 games in a season.
In the final USA South Athletic Conference series of the season, the Monarchs won the first matchup against visiting Greensboro, 10-5. Alex Kachler broke a tight contest open with a three-RBI home run in the sixth. The Monarchs would score two more runs in the inning, turning a narrow 4-3 lead into six-run, 9-3 bulge. Methodist logged 16 hits in the game, a top-five mark on the season. Kachler, Ethan Carmack, and Tucker Criswell each finished with a team-high three hits and a combined six runs scored. The three-game set was originally scheduled for a single Friday game in Greensboro followed by a doubleheader there the next day. Field conditions forced the Pride to shift the series opener to Fayetteville, and expected bad weather on Friday shifted the game to Thursday.
Haverford (15-14, 8-4 CC) rallied past No. 23 Swarthmore (17-11, 5-7 CC) at Kannerstein Field, scoring nine unanswered runs during its final three times at-bat for a 9-4 triumph over the rival Garnet. The Fords posted back-to-back four-run rallies in the sixth and seventh innings before adding a single run in the eighth to come away with the crucial conference victory. With today's result, Haverford now holds a 7-5 lead in the Hood Trophy standings with six sports yet to be decided. The first five hitters in the Haverford order each had two-hit days, while senior Sam Partee, batting out of the seventh slot, also laced a pair of hits and added an RBI. Sophomore Andrew Johnson (6-0) picked up the win in relief as he twirled three innings, allowing one earned run and four hits before junior Brandon Jenkins pitched two hitless innings to shut down any thoughts of a Swarthmore comeback.
Trailing by a run going into the bottom of the ninth, Reed Carlton lifted a three-run game-winning home run to give No. 25 Concordia Texas a thrilling 9-6 win to complete the doubleheader sweep of LeTourneau at Tornado Field. With the score tied 6-6, Carlton, a senior from Austin, Texas, lifted a 2-0 pitch over the right field wall give the Tornados a 9-6 victory and clinch the series after CTX grabbed game one with a dominant 15-3 win. With the pair of wins, CTX moves to 26-9 overall and 12-5 in American Southwest Conference play. Additionally, the Tornados have now won five straight games and currently sit in third place in the ASC standings. In the first game of the day, CTX got production from the entire lineup as every starter in the lineup had either a base hit or an RBI in the dominant victory.
