Rose-Hulman advanced to the championship round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament with a 6-3 win over Defiance College on Saturday afternoon at Art Nehf Field. The championship round featuring Rose-Hulman and Franklin was postponed until Sunday due to rain. Rose-Hulman and Franklin will square off at 10 am at Art Nehf Field. If Rose-Hulman wins game one, the second will follow 30 minutes after the contest. If Franklin wins game one, the Grizzlies return to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. Trever Bruno pitched 7.2 strong innings and allowed no earned runs with two strikeouts to improve to 4-2 on the season for the Engineers. Matthew Rouse completed the game with 1.1 innings of relief to move Rose-Hulman into the championship round for the first time since 2016.

Alex Burman broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning with a two-run double and Bobby Grigas shut the door as Susquehanna had several heroes in a 5-2 victory over Moravian Saturday afternoon. The win propels the team into Championship Sunday against either Moravian or Catholic. The Burman brothers, Alex and Ben, provided the offensive spark this afternoon, plating three runs to give the squad a cushion. Anthony Dombrowski also had three hits and is on fire over the Landmark Tournament (6-for-10).
Facing elimination, the No. 1 Concordia Chicago kept their chances alive for a 2019 NACC Tournament championship today with two wins. The Cougars opened the day by defeating Concordia Wisconsin 7-2 to advance to the championship game. CUC then defeated Aurora 5-4 to force a winner take all game tomorrow afternoon. Concordia never trailed in either contest but needed a manfactured rn in the ninth to secure the win agianst the Aurora Spartans.
Second-seeded UMass Boston and fifth-seeded UMass Dartmouth will square off Sunday with the 2019 Little East Conference (LEC) title on the line after eliminating top-seeded Southern Maine and fourth-seeded Eastern Connecticut Saturday at USM's Ed Flaherty Field. The Huskies survived an elimination game against third-seeded Rhode Island College to open the day's competition. The second-ranked Huskies (34-6) came out on top in a pitcher's duel between USM junior Ben Lambert and Rhode Island College (26-16) junior Tyler Shemick, winning 3-1. Senior Jack Harrington got UMass Dartmouth (19-20) on the board with his solo homer in the bottom of the fifth and the Corsairs took the lead for good with a two-run seventh as the Corsairs eliminated ECSU 5-2. Three UMass Boston (29-11) pitchers combined for a 2-0 six-hit shutout of 2019 LEC regular season champion Southern Maine (34-7), totaling 12 strikeouts to just a pair of walks in the contest to send the Huskies home.
The second seeded Falcons of Fitchburg State defeated the top seeded Owls of Westfield State, 13-10 this afternoon in championship round of the 2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Post-Season Tournament at the Bud and Jim Hagan Field to force a winner take all if necessary game tomorrow at Westfield State. Fitchburg State erupted for five runs in the top of the first and seven in the third to take a commanding lead in the first championship game. They withstood two four run innings to take the post-season series into Sunday. Earlier in the day, they defeated Framingham State 4-3 to reach the title games.
Chapman defeated the University of La Verne 4-1 earlier this afternoon to advance to the Championship game of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament tomorrow morning. Senior Tristan Kevitch led the Panthers with a two-run double to help lift the squad to victory. Chapman will have a Sunday date with Cal Lutheran. The Kingsmen pitching staff allowed a single run as they squeaked by Occidental 1-0 and send La Verne home 5-1 to reach the title game. Even though Cal Lutheran is in the regional rankings, they are likely too far down to earn an at-large bid and need two wins to return to the NCAA Playoffs.
Spalding found their offense on Saturday, defeating Greenville 9-0 to advance to Sunday's SLIAC Championship. Spalding, who had the league's top offense this season, had totaled just four runs in their first two games of the SLIAC Tournament; a season-low for back-to-back games. But facing elimination the top-seeded Golden Eagles busted out for nine runs to advance to the championship game for the first time since 2013. Spalding will now face Webster University on Sunday for the 2019 SLIAC Baseball Championship. Games are set for an 11 a.m. start at SIUE with the if necessary game being played immediately after the conclusion of the first game.
Rain forced the NESCAC tournament into a Saturdya start and Tufts made the most of it. Tufts will play for its sixth NESCAC title on Sunday after winning a pair of games on Saturday at the 2019 conference tournament hosted by Colby College. The Jumbos (28-8) defeated Middlebury College 5-0 in Game 2 of the tournament and then won the winner's bracket Game 3 by a 6-1 score against Williams College. Middlebury and Williams will play Game 5 on Sunday morning with the winner taking on Tufts in the championship round. In the double-elimination format, the Jumbos will need just one win to capture the title. An if necessary Game 7 would follow.
Penn State Abington and Penn State Berks are the final two teams left standing after three close games on Saturday at the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference tournament. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m. and will be held at the Wells College Turf Field in Aurora, N.Y. Due to unplayable field conditions and forecasted rain, this weekend’s games were moved from Keuka College to Wells College. If Penn State Berks wins game six, a game seven will be held immediately following the conclusion of Sunday’s first game to determine a conference champion. The tournament champion will receive an automatic berth to the 2019 NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. Penn State Berks opened the day with a 4-2 win over the NEAC regular seaon champion, Keuka. The fnal two games saw Wells go from undefeated to eliminated as Penn state Abington defeated the Express 4-2 and Penn State Berks sent them home after a 5-3 win.
