No. 9 Salisbury traveled up Route 50 to square off against Eastern Shore rival Washington College and came away with the victory, 7-6 on Wednesday afternooon. The pitching tandem of Jackson Balzan, Clayton Dwyer (2-1), and Corey Burton combined to strike out 20 Washington batters on Wednesday afternoon. Balzan (8) pitched the first five innings, Dywer (7) tossed the next 2 1/3, and Burton (5) struck out all five batters he faced to close the game and pick up his first save of the season. Brad Haas had a great day at the plate, going 4-for-5 while scoring a run and driving home another. Brandon Bonesteel hit his second home run in as many games while driving in two runs, scoring another, and drawing a walk. Cameron Hyder went 1-for-3 including a pair of walks from the leadoff position. The right fielder drove in a run and scored another in the win.

Daren Wood drove in five runs as Widener won a slugfest from the Muhlenberg Mules 15-11. Wood posted two hits in the game including a homer and a double. Stephen Posner recorded two hits and drove in three. Also recording multi-hit games were Kyle Brex, Justin Costanzo, and Brandon Reis. Reis had two RBI and Costanzo scored three times. Dylan Peiffer came on in relief and tossed 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out five to pick up the win.

Ohio Northern ran its win streak to three games during the Russ Matt Invitational The Polar Bears dismantled Muhlenberg (Pa.) 15-5 at Lake Myrtle Stadium to improve to 3-4 on the season. Northern's bats started hot and remained warm throughout the contest. ONU recorded 17 hits, as nine different players logged a base knock. Junior Krue Thwaits enjoyed the biggest day at the dish. He went 3-for-5 with a triple and five RBIs.

St. Olaf used strong pitching performances from three pitchers, including a four-hit shutout in game one by sophomore Sam Westermeyer, to post 4-0 and 5-2 victories over Northwestern (Minn.) on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning at U.S. Bank Stadium. In the opener, Westermeyer scattered four hits with one walk and five strikeouts to toss the second shutout of his career for St. Olaf (2-2). The Oles scored all four of their runs in the sixth inning to take game one and broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to complete the sweep in the nightcap. No. 1-ranked Washington University tossed a one-hit shutout in a 10-0 win over MacMurray at Kelly Field in St. Louis. Sophomore Matt Lopes (1-0) picked up the win allowing one hit with five strikeouts in five innings. Four relief pitchers combined to toss a perfect four innings with four strikeouts. Senior John Brinkman went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI, while sophomore Zac Styka was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. The Bears had 12 hits in the win. WashU scored six unearned runs to jump out to a 6-0 lead after four innings. Styka and sophomore Bo Anderson each had RBI singles in the fourth.  The Bears put the game out of reach with four runs on four hits in the fifth. Junior Ty Dalinghaus had an RBI triple to left and sophomore Caleb Durbin added an RBI double to left in the inning.

SUNY Maritime opened up their 2020 spring break trip in a big way as they defeated Northland 10-2 behind a 20-hit performance. Defensively, the Privateers were also on top of their game as they only allowed two runs on seven hits with Niko Concha earning the start and throwing 5 1/3 innings of two hit baseball. Offensively, Adam Mosca went 4-4 at the plate, while Eric Wenig and Jake Vera each chipped in three hits. Concha got the win for Maritime on the mound while Keegan McDonald and Brian Murray pitched in relief for Maritime to help seal the victory.

The Baruch bats came alive again as the Bearcats recorded a 15-0 and 19-3 wins against Rivier in Fort Myers, Florida. In addition to the season-opening win against Rutgers-Newark (13-6), the Bearcats have now totaled 47 runs in three games. Paul Sirakowski pitched a gem on the mound with a complete-game shutout of seven innings by scattering six hits with nine strikeouts and only one walk. Benjamin Akerman earns the game two win (3IP, 4H, 2R, 1ER) behind seven extra-base hits (five doubles, two triples) from the line up.

Illinois College picked up its first win of 2020 in exciting
fashion, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to Saint Vincent
and scoring 16 runs in a span of four innings to earn a
16-3 victory in seven innings over the Bearcats.

A first-inning outburst plus a pair of sensational pitching performances added up to the first win of the year for the Ursinus College baseball team. Alex Mumme hit a two-run homer during a five-run opening onslaught, and Nolan Graber worked into the sixth inning before Nick DeFeo picked up a marathon save to lock up a 5-3 victory over perennial power TCNJ on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon on Thomas Field. The Bears (1-1) bounced back from a lackluster offensive performance in Monday's opener with a trademark crooked number in their first opportunity.

Catholic put forth another big performance at the plate in a 19-4 rout over local foe Gallaudet at Robert J. Talbot Field. The Cardinals (5-4) jumped out to a 16-0 lead in the game's first three innings and have now scored 36 runs in their last two contests. The game was called after seven innings due to darkness. In the win, 12 different batters recorded a hit, and six had at least two RBIs.

With clean defense and quality pitching, Eureka picked up a 5-2 home-opening win over Knox at Henry Sand Field. Between Greg Cluskey, David Throw, Nathan Garard and Mason Diederich, the Eureka pitching staff limited Knox to two runs on six hits.Cluskey only gave up one run on four hits and three walks in five innings, and struck out seven. However, the game was tied when Throw took over in the sixth, giving the EC junior right-hander a no-decision.

Senior Chase Counts hit a two-out, game-winning walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead Hampden-Sydney to a thrilling 9-8 come from behind non-conference win past visiting Greensboro at Yank Bernier Field at the Ty Cobb Ballpark - Wurdeman Stadium. Counts' clutch hit to right center field allowed classmate Josh Duimstra to score the game-winning run as the Tigers celebrated their fifth-straight victory. Senior captain Bradford Webb gained the mound win in relief with the final scoreless inning for the host Tigers (8-3) against the visiting Pride (7-7).

Rensselaer opened the 2020 season with a bang, pounding out 20 hits a 17-6 victory over Westfield State, at Robison Field at Karl Steffen Ballpark. The Engineers begin the year at 1-0, while the Owls are 0-1. Six RPI players finished with multiple hits, including George Rainer, who went 4 for 5 with two runs and three runs batted in. Jake Defayette was 3 for 5 with two triples, two runs and a game-high five RBIs, while Hudson Livesey finished 3 for 4 with a double two runs and two RBIs. Sean Moorhouse led the Owls offensively with a 2 for 4 day, hitting two homers with two runs and three RBIs.

Behind a stellar pitching performance from senior hurler Luke Summers and the offense catching fire in the final innings, Fontbonne earned a much needed 11-2 win over St. Mary's (Minn.).Summers dominated on the bump allowing just one run and striking out a season-high 13 over 7.0 innings of work. Braeden Dobbs ended the day going 3-for-6 with a run scored and a career-high six RBI.

Messiah scored in bunches, plating 18 runs in an 18-9 victory over the visiting Gettysburg Bullets. The Falcons broke the game open with a three-run fourth and eight-run fifth to turn a 7-6 lead into an 18-6 advantage heading into the sixth. Led by Dalton Miller's three hits, a half dozen Falcons collected multiple hits in the comfortable victory. Both Jarod Bingaman and Ryan Hentschel scored three runs each, as seven different Falcons crossed the plate at least twice. With the win, Messiah levels their record to 3-3 overall on the season.

Southern Virginia defeated crosstown rivals Washington & Lee, 10-9, at Cap'n Dick Smith Field. Cole Critchfield led the Knights (9-3) tallying four hits, including two doubles and a pair of RBIs while Mitch Tyse led the team with three RBIs and a homer. Bridger Taylor also posted a multiple-hit game with a triple and two RBIs. Riley Daniels earns the win to improve to 4-1 on the season going 1.2 innings, allowing four hits, two runs, two walks, and two Ks. Soto started for the Knights tossing six innings, surrendering four runs (one earned) on six hits while picking up a pair of strikeouts. Will Parker also saw time in relief in 0.2 innings while Tyse collects the save, his first of the season.

SUNY Oneonta opened newly renovated Red Dragon Baseball Field with a 9-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill. Senior hurler David Deberardinis allowed just one hit over six innings of work while striking out four Tigers to earn the win. Four different Red Dragons had multiple hits on the day. Dominic Lamonica went 2-for-5 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI. James Ceparano also went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Sean McGlynn was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs and three stolen bases. Jake Barrett chipped in with two hits and a run scored. The Red Dragons finished the day with nine stolen bases as a team. Michael Dunne, Dean Langman and Michael Losak each tossed a scoreless inning of relief for Oneonta.

Mitchell topped Concordia-Morehed by an 11-1 final at the RussMatt Invitational. Ryan Solimine tossed a complete game and struck out seven to pick up his first win of the season while Jeremy Sagun and Jakari Pellegrini drove in three runs apiece to pace the offense. Sagun finished with a double and a triple in the game while Pellegrini added a homer.

Marymount put together six-straight runs through the first five innings, earning the 6-4 victory over St. Mary's (Md) at Nationals Youth Baseball Academy. The Saints were guided by a gem of a game on the mound by sophomore Jarrod Schmitz, being awarded the win in his first collegiate start. The right-hander tossed seven complete innings, giving up just four hits and one run while striking out a career-best five batters. 

Lynchburg extended its win streak to five games as the Hornets scored double-digit runs for the third game in a row with its 15-5 drubbing of the Averett Cougars. Kinston Carson led the Hornets' offense, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI on the afternoon. Carson's were three of seven runs driven in by the top of the Lynchburg order, as sophomore Carrson Atkins and junior Parker Shaffer both doubled and drove home two runs.

Senior Kevin Murray Jr. finished 4-5 at the plate with two extra-base hits, three runs scored and two runs batted in as a four-run fifth inning moved the Stevenson University baseball team past Lancaster Bible 8-2 at Sugar Field. Stevenson is off to its best start since 2013 when it went 9-1 to open the year. The six-game win streak is the longest for the Mustangs since 2018. Murray and Nate Perkins each extended their season-opening hit streaks to eight games.

Maryville earned their four-straight victory, as the Scots offense continues to roll with a 19-10 win over Emory & Henry. MC compiled 16 hits, as they drew five walks and seven hit-by-pitch. In all, the Scots knocked out 15 RBI on the day. Will Hubble led the way with a 3-for-6 effort, as the totaled three doubles, four RBI and three runs scored. Ian Campbell went 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs and a pair of walks in the non-conference victory.
