Emory University closed out the 2021 season Tuesday afternoon by defeating Maryville College by a score of 6-5 at Chappell Park in Atlanta, GA. The Eagles finished the shortened season with a 7-5 overall record.

In search of its 14th victory in as many tries to set a new program win-streak record, Immaculata returned to the field on Tuesday afternoon to face Cabrini in an Atlantic East clash. Immaculata got on the board early via a Josh Crowding home run and never looked back en route to an 8-3 victory over Cabrini. Mason Keller got the start on the mound for Immaculata going six innings scattering three runs on six hits with three walks while striking out four to improve to 5-0 on the year. n at home against Gwynedd Mercy in the first of a three-game set with the Griffins beginning at 3 p.m.

After losing the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader 14-4 to conference-leading Beloit, Ripon redeemed themselves with a 10-9 victory in game two, handing Beloit their first loss of the 2021 season in comeback fashion. Trailing by one entering the bottom of the ninth of the second game, the first two Red Hawks reached base, setting the stage for Jonathan Hall to drive in Anthony Zak on a groundout to tie the score at nine. Two batters later, Nick Tenny sent the Ripon faithful home happy as he singled to left, scoring Zach Albrent from second to secure the victory. That emptied the Red Hawks' dugout as all of Tenny's teammates greeted him on the field in celebration. Beloit set a program record opening up with 10 consecutive wins.

SUNY Cobleskill used strong pitching and timely hitting to sweep the visiting Kangaroos of SUNY Canton in North Atlantic Conference action by scores of 4-1 and 6-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Fighting Tiger Field. With the sweep the Fighting Tigers move to 7-2 overall on the year including a 5-1 record in conference play while the Kangaroos drop to 3-7 overall with a 1-3 record in league action. In the first game Jayson Maxwell belted a two-run home run to drive in freshman catcher Matthew Snyder who had singled to give the team a 4-1 lead. From there the Fighting Tiger pitching staff closed the door as freshman right-hander Stephen Tejada earned the victory by going 6 2/3 innings allowing one earned run on five hits, striking out five while walking only one with relief help from junior fireman Manielvic Diplan, who earned the save by striking out the only hitter he faced with runners on first and second. In the nightcap the Fighting Tiger pitching staff continued to stifle the Kangaroos as four Cobleskill hurlers held the visitors to only one earned run on seven hits while striking out three and walking only one in the win which was credited to freshman Andrew Jarkow who pitched two innings of relief allowing only one unearned run.

Freshman pitcher Brendan McComber allowed just one run on six hits in collecting his first collegiate complete game victory, as Mary Washington defeated Southern Virginia University, 9-1, on Tuesday at V. Earl Dickinson in Coast 2 Coast Athletic Conference action. The Eagles improve to 4-12 on the season, and 3-7 in league play. The Eagles blew the game open with five in the eighth. Jonathan Sedmak and Garrett Lyons opened the frame with singles, and Ty Lowe walked to load the bases for David Lambertson, who tripled home all three runners. Nick Ciuffreda followed with an RBI ground out. Norman Holcomb then walked, advanced to third on a Nick Bass single, and scored on a fielder's choice from Owen Reilly.

Freshman pitcher Terry Murray had a strong outing, throwing a complete game, allowing two runs on nine hits to go along with three strikeouts, as Rhode Island College defeated UMass Boston, 10-2, in Little East action played at Monan Park on Tuesday afternoon. Nate Vigeant went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI, two walks and one run scored. Cam Santerre went 1-for-3 with two walks and a pair of runs scored. Izaiah Rivera went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. UMB junior third basemen Thomas Cue went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and one run scored.

Messiah split a road doubleheader at Stevenson University on Tuesday afternoon, winning the first game, 8-4, and dropping the second contest, 19-5. Jarod Bingaman collected four hits across the two games, including a 3-for-3 performance in the first game, crushing his fourth home run of the season. Trent Culver pitched five strong innings in the Game one victory, earning his first win of the season on the mound. Despite falling in game two, Reed Wagner contributed a phenomenal offensive performance. Wagner went 2-for-2, notching two RBI to up his season total to three. Wagner laced a career-high three hits, including two extra-base hits, the second multi-hit game of his career.

In a midweek contest controlled by pitching, UMHB's bats made a little noise as well. The Cru defeated Southwestern on Tuesday night by a score of 2-1 to move to 17-14 on the year. The Pirates of Southwestern, playing UMHB for the second time this season, dropped to 15-15 overall. UMHB had recorded a hit in every inning except the fourth, but had yet to score a run as the top of the eighth got underway, with the visitors from Belton trailing 1-0. The tide quickly turned in the Cru’s favor. A sacrifice fly off the bat of catcher Hunter McQuary gave the Cru a 2-1 advantage that turned out to be the final score.

The Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors' pitching staff tossed 14 scoreless innings and the offense recorded 20 runs as WLC swept Maranatha in a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday at Washington Park. WLC won the first game 7-0 before posting a season-high 19 hits in a 13-0 win in game two. Freshman Noah Eggert tossed six shutout innings to record the win for Wisconsin Lutheran, allowing six hits while striking out 12 in game one. Senior Jacob Kopplin recorded the win in the nightcap as five Warriors pitchers combined for the shutout. Kopplin threw three innings and struck out three batters. Wisconsin Lutheran's pitching staff combined for eight strikeouts and allowed just three hits.

Oswego State, behind a grand slam from Julian Drew and solid relief pitching from Thomas Pecchia, extended their win streak to 10 games with a doubleheader sweep of Fredonia. The Lakers won 8-5 and 10-5. Oswego was cruising in game one until the seventh when a trio of walks and a trio of singles helped the Blue Devils close the gap to 6-5. It was a quick recovery as Dylan Frawley homered with Connor Stanton aboard in the eighth to move it back to 8-5. In the nightcap, Junior Kyle Lauria and Myles Felton reached by way of walk, setting the table for the Drew grand slam that put Oswego in charge 5-0 after one half inning and they maintained their edge in getting the SUNYAC sweep.

Christopher Newport won it's sixth straight game on Tuesday afternoon when the Captains went on the road to beat Lynchburg, 9-4. Freshman Scott Crosson drove in five runs and scored twice to lead the way offensively while the Captains pitching staff put together another strong outing overall. Crosson delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the ninth inning to cushion a 6-4 lead, extending a six-game hitting streak. He finished with just the lone hit but plated a season-high five runs batted in to match the most for a freshman since Jon Hurd drove in 7 at Southern Virginia on April 7, 2001. The Chesapeake, Va. native added an RBI groundout in the first inning and a sacrifice fly in the third to round out his run-producing plate appearances on the day. With the victory, the Captains improved to 16-7 while Lynchburg slipped to 22-11. Jay Cassady, the reigning CAC Player of the Week, started and earned his second straight win on the mound with 5.0 IP on Tuesday. He improved to 2-2 on the season while rookie Matt Gaither got the final four outs for his second career save.

Plattsburgh State split a non-conference doubleheader at SUNY Poly on Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals cruised to a 14-0 win in game one, before dropping game two, 12-8. Both contests were seven innings. With the doubleheader split, Plattsburgh State is now 3-7 on the season and SUNY Poly is 2-5. Four Cardinals drove in at least three runs each as Plattsburgh State cruised to a 14-0 win over SUNY Poly in game one. Andrew Veit (1-0), who started on the mound and earned his first win in a Cardinal uniform, limited the Wildcats to two hits over four innings pitched. Veit tallied one walk and three strikeouts. Plattsburgh State scored the final five runs of the game, but was unable to overcome a 12-3 deficit and dropped game two, 12-8.

Second-ranked Trinity turned a line drive back to the mound into a game-ending double play and held off Texas Lutheran 13-12 for a non-conference victory at TLU's Katt-Isbel Field. Trinity jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the second inning and appeared headed for a big win over the Bulldogs, but TLU chipped away at the lead, scoring a run in the third, four in the fourth, three in the fifth, and two more in the sixth to tie the game. The Tigers grabbed the lead for good in the ninth on an RBI single from Tyler Pettit. TLU put the first two batters on base in the bottom of the ninth, but Ethan Clark struck out a batter and then snagged Tyler Cauley's line drive back to him. After catching the liner, Clark fired to first to double-off a Bulldog base-runner.

St. Scholastica had to use two different types of rallies to sweep Northland College on Tuesday at Wade Stadium in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Saints gradually cut into the lead and finally overtook Northland in the seventh inning of game one to win 5-4, but had to use a four-run bottom of the ninth in game two to win 9-8 to complete the sweep. Matt Tautges has reached base in all 12 games this season. He never hit prior to this season.
