Junior Tom Vesosky hit his first career home run leading off the bottom of the ninth inning to give the University of Southern Maine Huskies a 7-6, come-from-behind victory over Western Connecticut State University in the nightcap of the teams Little East Conference doubleheader Saturday at Westside Field. Western Conn State, keyed by senior Jake Babon's seventh inning grand slam home run, held off the Huskies to take a 9-6 win in the opening game. The split leaves the Huskies at 11-6 overall and 3-3 in the Little East Conference. WestConn is now 1-3 overall and in the conference.

Third-ranked Salisbury scored in each of its first four innings, rolling over the Christopher Newport Captains, 7-2, to win the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) series on Saturday afternoon at Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. Kavi Caster provided the two-hole spark for the Sea Gulls, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and four RBIs.

Make it 12 wins in a row. Nationally No. 21-ranked Adrian College did just that on Saturday when the Bulldogs edged visiting Hope College, 6-4, at Nicolay Field. The second game of the scheduled MIAA doubleheader was suspended in the top of the fourth inning with Adrian leading 5-2. The teams will try to complete the contest on Monday here in Adrian with a time to be determined. The Bulldogs improve to 17-5 overall and 11-0 in the MIAA, while the Flying Dutchmen drop to 9-10 on the season and 2-5 in the conference. Sophomore AJ Miranda led the way for Adrian going 3-for-3 with three runs batted in. Freshman Joe Casale went 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs scored.

No. 5 ranked Marietta College took care of business on Saturday with a pair of nonconference run-rule victories over visiting Capital University. The Etta Express downed Capital 11-1 and 14-4 with both games stopped in the eighth inning under Ohio Athletic Conference mercy rules. Winners of nine straight games, the Pioneers improved to 16-1 on the season. Capital falls to 2-15 overall.

Nick Fusari had a walk-off in game one as No. 7 Cal Lutheran clinched the series with Redlands behind a 3-2 win in 11 innings on Saturday afternoon. Game two went to Bulldogs with a score of 6-5. The Kingsmen have a 12-game schedule, with six games apiece with Redlands and Chapman. The Purple and Gold won the first series of the season. Harrison Dunkel started the bottom of the 11th with a walk. He stole second and advanced to third after a throwing error by Redlands' catcher. A few batter later, Fusari singled to right center, scoring the game-winning run. In game two, Redlands jumped out to a quick lead but the game came down to the bottom of the ninth as the Kingsmen trailed by one. Ben Wangrin singled through the right side to start the inning, and moved to second after a ground ball out. With runners on first and second, with two outs, the Bulldogs escaped with the win.

No. 1 Trinity (Texas) clinched its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference home series with Schreiner University with an explosive, 14-12, victory in the day's opener before spliting its Saturday doubleheader on an 8-7, 10-inning affair. The Tigers (19-2, 8-1 SCAC) were led offensively in the doubleheader by senior centerfielder Mason Meredith, who was one of four Trinity batters to collect four base-hits to go with his team-high four RBI. Senior rightfielder Rafe Chaumette and junior catcher Tyler Pettit joined Meredith with four hits; Chaumette added a pair of walks while Pettit's output included a pair of doubles. Senior reliever Branden Hance tallied his first victory of the season as he concluded Saturday's opener with a three of his five shutout innings of relief across the day's action.

Washington & Jefferson College hit five home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Waynesburg on Saturday at Ross Memorial Park. W&J eclipsed its 2019 single-season win streak record of 16 games with an 11-1 game one win and took game two 21-4. Junior pitcher Henry Litman tossed six shutout innings to earn his fourth win of the season. She allowed five hits, struck out three and didn't issue a walk on the day. In the nightcap, tge Presidents ended up scoring eight runs in the home half of the first and by the end of the fourth inning, W&J had a 13-0 lead. In the games 15 different players scored for W&J.

Landon Durdin delivered a two-out, two-RBI walk-off single through the right side of the infield to give Southwestern a 5-4 win over Noi. 14 Centenary, clinching the weekend three-game series for the Pirates. Soputhwestern would go on to win 9-8 to sweep the three game series. In the opener, Centenary turned to Parker Primeaux for the save opportunity. Primeaux struck Jacob Tanner out swinging to start the inning. Jake Harris and Daniel Montgomery followed with back-to-back singles through the right side, putting runners on the corners. Lance Kruse flew out to leftfield, with Montgomery advancing to second. Durdin followed by ripping a shot through the infield's right side, scoring Harris and Montgomery as the Pirates stormed the field in celebration.

Nothing was settled today in the ODAC race. Seniors Mike Nickles and Jacob Selden combined for 8 hits, 7 RBI and 6 runs in the nightcap as No. 12 Randolph-Macon split an ODAC doubleheader with No. 18 Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Alex Kokos surpassed 200 hits for his career, and Victor Cruz hit a grand slam, to lead #20 Rowan to a 14-11 win over Rutgers-Newark. Lefthander Donald Zellman pitched a complete game in a 9-1 win as the Profs swept the Scarlet Raiders in an NJAC baseball doubleheader. Kokos entered the first game needing three hits to reach 200 and did that one better, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI in the first-game win. Zellman threw a two-hitter and recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts while allowing just one run in the first complete game as a Prof.
