• Records: JHU (7-3) • RC (4-4)

How it Happened
• After both teams traded a pair of scoreless innings, Hopkins got on the board in the third to take a 2-0 lead. Dylan Whitney opened up the inning with a single through the middle. James Ingram laid down a bunt, hustling up the line to beat an errant throw from Ramapo third basemen Brian Baranok. Whitney turned on the burners and scored while Ingram advanced to second with a bunt single and an error on the throw. Tripp Myers singled through the right side, putting runners on first and third with nobody away. After a strikeout, the Jays put the double steal on, Myers was thrown out at second, but Ingram came in to score on the play.

• Another mistake gave the Jays a run in the fourth to make it 3-0 in a busy inning. Jared deFaria singled to open up the inning, stealing second later in the inning. With two away, deFaria moved up 90 feet on a balk. Sam Frank drew a free pass, putting runners on the corners. Ciani tried to pick Frank off of first, but it got away from first baseman Joe Wisniewski, allowing deFaria to score.

• The Jays really started to pull away in the fifth inning. AJ King singled to open up the inning, chasing Ciani from the contest. Shawn Steuerer hit a pop-up on the infield. It fell to the turf, but Justin Garthaffner had a chance to throw out King who held on the pop up, the throw was errant, putting two on for the Jays. deFaria laced a single to right-center, loading up the bases. Jack Pausic unloaded on a baseball to left field, clearing the fence and the bases, with a grand slam, his second home run in as many games. Now with a seven run lead, Collins breezed through the inning with a pair of strikeouts.

• With a 10-run mercy rule in play for the tournament, the Jays ended it early. After a Steuerer fly-out, deFaria was hit by a pitch and Pausic drew a walk. Matthew Cooper stepped up and crushed a one-out three-run bomb to left for a 10-0 lead. In the bottom half, Collins went 1-2-3 once again, completing the no-hitter with a strikeout.

Collins is the sixth pitcher to throw a solo no-hitter for the Blue Jays. The Floridian is now 2-1 on the season with a 3.86 ERA.

• deFaria reached base all four times at the plate, going a perfect 3-3 with three singles, three runs scored and a hit-by-pitch. deFaria now has 10 hits and nine runs scored on the season.
