Junior Carter Raabe recorded three hits, including a triple, double, and two RBI as the Wisconsin Lutheran College baseball team concluded its spring break trip at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic with a 13-4 victory over NCAA Division II St. Michael's on Friday morning at Park T. Pigott Memorial Stadium.

UW-Stevens Point (5-1) finished the first half of the Florida trip with an 8-5 win over St. Scholastica (5-7). UWSP's offense woke up a bit with Aaron Simmons leading the way with a 4-for-4 game. He drove in two and scored twice. Bradley Comer added a pair of hits and had three RBI. Logan Matson also had two hits and scored three runs. The Saints made it interesting in the ninth with three runs on three hits, but CSS left the bases loaded to end the game. Nick Paulsen earned the win with 6.0 frames and tied a career high with six strikeouts. Sidney Ferry picked up his 10th career save by recording the final out with the bases loaded.

The University of Southern Maine Huskies scored a run in the top of the eighth and the ninth but was unable to complete the comeback falling to the UW-La Crosse Eagles 7-6 Saturday morning at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. UWL jumped on top of the Huskies 4-0 scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and bottom of the third. The huskies would scratch out runs, cutting the deficit but the Eagles would keep extending the lead. UWL's Caleb Mati who entered the game in the ninth retired the Huskies first two batters on fly outs before USM senior Brogan Searle-Belanger connected on a solo home run to make it 7-6. Wilson followed Searle-Belanger with a single, and the Huskies' had runners at first and second after an infield error but Mati got the final out on an infield ground out.

Pfeiffer University won both ends of a USA South
doubleheader over rival Greensboro College on
Saturday afternoon at Joe Ferebee Field. They took
game one 10-8 and won the second 16-4 in eight.

The theme of late-inning scoring continued for Oglethorpe in a 6-4 come-from-behind victory at Emory Saturday afternoon. The Stormy Petrels trailed 4-2 in the eighth and 4-3 in the ninth before rallying for the win. Jonathan Cruz delivered in this one, singling to right field on a 2-2 count with the game tied 4-4 with two out in the top of the ninth. It scored Shota Barbeau and Harrison Hall shortly after Mason Pearcy came home to score on Rajan Sampat's RBI groundout. Pearcy started the rally with an infield hit on an 0-2 pitch to lead off the ninth. Jake Hill threw four shutout innings in relief of starting pitcher Colby James to pick up the win and improve to 1-0. Hill struck out two and allowed only one hit and one walk while keeping the Eagles off the board from the sixth inning on. James allowed a run on one hit and two ground balls in the first inning then allowed the Eagles to score in only one other inning, a three-run fourth.

Senior rightielder Paul Cooke went 3-for-4 with four RBI as Swarthmore edged Montclair State, 8-7 on Saturday afternoon. Junior Nate Jbara had two hits and two RBI for the Garnet (6-9), who earned their second win over MSU this season. Swarthmore defeated Montclair, 14-5 in the season opener for both teams back on February 19. Sophomore outfielder Michael Murphey and senior catcher Anthony Guarino each homered and drove in three runs for the Red Hawks (11-5).

Graduate student Nathaniel Cormier and sophomore Johnny Knox each drove in three runs in Nichols College's 18-3 win over Bard College Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Starry Baseball Field. Knox, along with seniors DJ Caron and Victor Valentin, and sophomore Brennan Hyde, each left the yard for the Bison (4-6), who banged out 19 hits en route to extend their win streak to three. Cormier finished the afternoon with four hits while freshman Ryan Porth plated three runs, and both Caron and freshman William Nath tallied two RBI. Freshman Clark Churchill got the start on the bump for the Bison and earned his first collegiate victory. He allowed just three hits and one run over four innings to work. Freshmen Ben Weber and Patrick Doyle, along with junior Kyle McCutcheon, each tossed one perfect inning in relief.

Benedictine University used four big innings to down William Paterson 15-3. William Paterson jumped in front with a run in the bottom of the first and added a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to draw within 4-3. Benedictine broke the game open with five runs in the fourth. Andrew Kurcz tossed six innings to notch his first win, allowing three runs on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts

The UW-Stout Blue Devils ended their spring break trip to Florida with an 11-9 win in dramatic fashion in extra innings. The Mariners would tack on five runs over the middle innings to take the lead 8-6. In the eighth inning, the Blue Devils would load the bases and take a 9-8 lead. The Mariners would once again score in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at nine. After a scoreless ninth inning, the Blue Devils found themselves in business in the top of the tenth. After a Thimsen walk and a Ryan Herbst bunt single, Schirpke doubled in a run to take a 10-9 lead. The hit was Shirpke's fourth hit of the morning and sixth RBI. Two batters later, Carlson would add an insurance run for the Blue Devils on a softly hit ball to the first basemen. Szykowny (1-0) pitched a scoreless 10th inning to secure the win in the Blue Devils final game of the Florida trip and pick up his first collegiate pitching victory.

Wilmington College led 5-1 after three innings, but Asbury University chipped away and eventually won the game 7-6 on a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning in game one of a three-game series on Saturday. Asbury's Walker Paris, who hit the home run in the eighth, opened the ninth inning with a single. Three consecutive walks followed, which tied the game 6-6 with the bases still loaded and no outs. The Quakers got one out on a fielder's choice, but a sacrifice fly to center field scored the game-winning run.

Hendrix extended its overall win streak to four with Saturday's 4-1 series-opening win over Sewanee at Montgomery Field. The Warriors have won three-straight games against the Tigers and in Southern Athletic Association play. Hendrix (18-2) plated all the runs Andrei Stoyanow, Nathan Silva and Teddy Olander would need in the top of the fourth inning. A Tyler Beard RBI walk broke a scoreless tie. A Joseph Watts sacrifice fly in the next at-bat proved to be the game-winning RBI. Rail Gilliam and Owen Shaw each batted 2-for-4 in the victory. Job and Shaw each scored twice. Beard drew two of Hendrix's seven walks. Stoyanow (2-1) picked up the win on the mound, going 6.1 innings, allowing just one earned run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and five walks. Silva tossed 0.2 innings of perfect relief. Olander got the save with two hitless innings out of the bullpen to go along with a pair of strikeouts and walks.

Gallaudet picked up its first United East Conference win of the season here Saturday against Wells College at a windy Hoy Field. The Bison offense erupted to match their season-high total for runs (18) as they defeated the Express, 18-10, in the nine-inning second game of the twin bill. GU (5-13) dropped the first game, 15-1, in seven innings to Wells (5-10). In game onethe Express quickly grabbed seven runs in the first four innings as they held the Bison scoreless in all innings but the bottom of the fourth. The Bison turned things around in the second game as bats came alive in the bottom of the first inning as Gallaudet batted around and scored 11 runs.

Ithaca College notched a 7-2 victory over Stevenson on Saturday at Northeast Regional Park in IC's final game of its spring trip to Florida. The Bombers went 6-1 during the trip and will return to South Hill with an overall record of 10-2. Ithaca recorded 14 hits in the win as five Bombers notched two hits apiece. Nate Scott earned the win in 7.0 solid innings of work as he struck out five and allowed just four hits and one walk. Colin Leyner and Garrett Bell each tossed an inning in relief.

sacrifice fly to give the Dutchmen a thrilling 3-2
victory over Susquehanna University on Saturday in
the team's first game of the year at McGill Field.

The Washington Shoremen concluded their spring break trip in Florida with a doubleheader sweep of the Franciscan Barons, 6-2 and 3-1, on Saturday afternoon. The Shoremen went 8-2 on the trip and now stand at 13-5 on the season. Senior left-hander Mike Smith took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and got the win in the opener. Junior right-hander Anthony Sofran was terrific in the nightcap to help deliver a sweep. The Barons fall to 7-3 on the season. Washington College broke the ice with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning and busted the game open with a five-run two-out rally in the bottom of the fifth inning. Smith yielded two earned runs on two hits and two walks while fanning six. The Shoreman scored first in game two with two runs in the top of the third, all they would need. Sofran (2-0) allowed one runs, scattered five hits, whiffed a career-high seven and walked just one batter in 5.2 innings. Right-handed reliever Alex Bendzlowicz (1.1 inn., 2 hits) came on for his second save in two days.

Salem State won their second consecutive conest with McDaniel 10-9 on Saturday. Traverse Briana had five RBI in the second win over McDaniel, including a two-run home run and game-winning sacrifice fly with one out in the bottom of the 10th. Tim Catalano produced a 3-for-5 day at the plate while Zachary Piroh launched a two-run home run in the first inning, helping Salem State to a 5-0 early lead. McDaniel scored two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth before tying the game in the game with two out in the ninth. The Green Terror took the lead, 9-8 in the top of the tenth on an error, but an error with the bases loaded tied the game before Briana ended the contest with a sacrifice fly to center. Brad Feeder picked up the win going 0.2 innings and not allowing a hit or run with one walk issued.

Sophomore Patrick Clementi threw six solid innings to help Gettysburg College (5-8) earn a 5-3 win in the opening game against Westfield State University (5-3), while senior Andrew Decker and sophomore Tristan Neels combined for seven hits and nine RBI in a 10-8 victory in the nightcap against the Owls. Clementi picked up his first collegiate victory after pitching six innings and allowing just one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts. Tristan Neels was perfect in four trips to the plate, going 2-for-2 with two walks and scoring two runs. Game two was a rollercoaster ride with Gettysburg jumping out to a big lead early only to see Westfield State rally in the later innings. Westfield State loaded the bags in the ninth with one out and the heart of its lineup coming up to the dish. Tyler Lizell once again entered the fray and picked up a short pop up to right field for the second out. Staring down the big lefty bat of Marshall with two outs and the bases jammed, the first-year reliever induced another routine fly to Miller in center field to close the game. Leighton earned the victory after an effective relief outing, while Lizell earned his second save in as many chances. The Bullets pounded out 14 hits with Decker going 4-for-5 with three runs and four RBI.

Averett University's offense broke out for a pair of big wins to begin conference play Saturday. The Cougars crushed Mary Baldwin University 15-1 and 16-4 in a doubleheader to open their three-game series. Averett (7-11, 2-0 USA South) combined for 21 runs and 30 hits over the two games against Mary Baldwin (3-13, 0-2 USA South). Brandon Hatcher went 4-for-6 in the opener. Averett continued their momentum into Game 2, taking a 2-0 advantage in the first inning. Everytime Mary Baldwin would score, Averett would answer. Averett tacked on a run in the seventh, four runs in the eighth and two more on a Brophy homer in the ninth. Mary Baldwin scored three in the bottom of the ninth but it wasn't nearly enough to close the gap. Preston Robbins went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Hatcher was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and four runs scored in Game 2.

Luke Ritter and Anthony Clerici combined for 17 strikeouts in game two, to lead Lewis & Clark to a conference doubleheader split with host George Fox University on Saturday at Morse Athletic Field. Ritter and Clerici limited the Bruins to just five hits and one run in a 5-1 game two victory. Three George Fox pitchers combined to limit Lewis & Clark to six hits and one run in a 5-1 game one victory. The combination of Sean Wiese (six innings), Alex Abbott and Andrew Sutherland (two innings) scattered four walks and six hits and just one earned run. Ritter and Clerici were dominant and the visitors scored five runs between the fifth and seventh innings to earn the doubleheader split.

Huntingdon defeated Covenant, 7-4. Cullen Stafford's RBI single to right field gave the Hawks a 5-4 lead in the 5th inning. Daniel Phillips scored on Daniel Patton's strikeout on the throw to first by the catcher to give the Hawks a 6-4 lead. The Hawks added a run in the 8th with an RBI groundout by Colin Whibbs to make it 7-4. Seth Killam started the game, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing 4 runs on 8 hits with 3 strikeouts. Hall Billings earned the win, pitching 5.0 innings and allowing no runs on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts.

Union College opened the season by splitting a doubleheader with the UW-Superior on Saturday afternoon at Northeast Regional Park. The Dutchmen lost a late lead in a 4-3 game-one loss, but came back to salvage a split with a 6-3 win in game two. Sophomore Kobe Mentzer led Union at the plate, going 4-for-7 with a homer, two runs batted in and two runs scored, while senior Jack DiNanno also homered, doubled and drove in a pair as part of a 3-for-6 day at the plate.

New Jersey City University's bats exploded once again and the team moved to .500 on the season for the first time after defeating the Manhattanville College Valiants 13-4. This was the fourth time in the last five games that the Jersey City sluggers scored 10 or more runs, including dropping 20 runs yesterday. Continuing the strong to his NJCU career, freshman Matt Kaliske finished the day with three hits and two RBI. Following his three-hit performance yesterday, senior Ricky Voss captured went 4-for-4 today, adding four RBI and scoring four runs.

Brevard College (12-7) split its USA South Conference opening doubleheader against Maryville College (11-5) on Saturday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. Maryville used a four-run ninth inning to take the first game, while BC held onto a late lead in game two to take a 5-3 victory. After a strikeout to begin the top of the ninth in the opener, the Scots rallied with three singles and a walk to plate a pair of runs. Another RBI single and a runner scoring on a wild pitch made the score 5-1 in favor of the guests. Brevard was able to flip the script in game number two, holding a lead for the entire contest en route to the victory.

Due to final exams in the prior term as well as spring break, nearly 12 days passed between contests for the baseball program. That changed rapidly when the Carleton College Knights from Northfield, Minnesota came to Pasadena. After a loss on Friday, Saturday brought a new day and the chance to play a doubleheader in slightly cooler conditions. CalTech got good pitching and an efficient offense to sweep the Knights, 3-0, 6-5. "I wanted the guys to play loose, enjoy being back around each other and playing for one another," Head Coach Kevin Whitehead said. "You have to continually remind yourself what you are doing, have fun and always keep things in perspective. We emphasized this going into today's doubleheader."

Ben Bonavita capped off a five-run fourth with a go-ahead two-run home run to lift the Roger Williams University to a 10-8 win over Ramapo College on Saturday morning at the Russmatt Baseball Complex. The home run was a part of a four-RBI game for Bonavita in support of a superb 5.1 innings of relief by Chris Flynn. With the win, RWU completes their Florida Spring Break trip with a perfect 10-0 record, and they are one of just seven Division III schools to be undefeated to this point this spring. However, the Hawks have played more games than all but one of those teams. The Roadrunners, on the other hand, also complete their slate of games in the Sunshine State and drop to 4-7 on the campaign.

After five days off to rest from its spring trip in Florida, Otterbein got back to action with a three-game set at Earle Combs Stadium over the weekend. In the final doubleheader, the Cardinals exploded offensively in the first before coming up short in a wild finale. Otterbein won game one 14-2 and Transylvania took the second 14-12. The offense remained potent in game one with multiple runs in four innings, beginning with three in the opening at-bat thanks to another 2 RBI-double from Perebzak and Edgell quickly bringing him around. The Cards ended things with a huge seventh inning, crossing another six runs to pull away for good. All sorts of action and wind played a role in the outcome of a game two shootout, tied 6-6 after five innings before Otterbein plated two in the top of the sixth. However, Transy found momentum in the bottom half with six runs to jump ahead for good.

RIT won a twin bill over host Oneonta in non-league action on Saturday; 6-1, 8-5. In game one, RIT scored its first two runs – including the game winner – on passed balls in the second inning. The Tigers added single runs in the fourth and sixth innings, to go with a two-run fifth inning. Senior centerfielder Will Porter and junior catcher Kyle Poorman accounted for four of the team's six hits with two hits each, leading the Tigers to a 6-1 win. Game two's 8-5 victory was led by sophomore catcher John Bagley's three hits and two hits each from Porter and freshman second baseman Christopher Colella. The Tigers staked a five-run first inning and never looked back after adding one run in the third and two runs in the sixth.

Keuka College split a pair of games to open their season and spring trip to Florida on Saturday. Keuka College (1-1) defeated in-state foe Fredonia State 10-6 in the first game, but the Wolves lost 7-5 to Rutgers-Camden in the nightcap. Keuka College once again took advantage of free base runners in the late innings. The Wolves would score five runs on five hits in the bottom of the eighth to take the 10-6 lead. Tre Slawson saw the game out on the mound for the Wolves. The freshman completed his 2.2 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief to secure the 10-6 victory for the Wolves. Rutgers-Camden tied game two on a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth and took the lead on a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh. Keuka College brought the tying run to the plate in both the eighth and ninth, but they would be unable to convert, losing in the second game 7-5

Misericordia University used two solid pitching performances to complete their MAC Freedom series sweep of Wilkes, 2-1, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Tambur Field. David McCurry allowed just thee hits and one unearned run in a 2-1 win the opener. Connor Maryniak struck out two in the seventh to earn a save for the second straight day. Isaac Snyder struck out five and scattered six hits in a complete game 3-0 win in the nightcap. Brendan Gray had two hits to lead Misericordia in the opener. Garrett McIlhenney had two hits in the nightcap and Brady Madden had an RBI-single for MU.

Skidmore College earned a pair of victories over Lasell University on Saturday to close its trip with seven wins against just one loss. The Thoroughbreds captured game one, 8-1, before exploding for 15 runs in a 15-3 victory in game two. Jack Clark continued his excellent start of the year on the mound for Skidmore (11-1). He tossed his third consecutive seven-inning complete game victory. He surrendered one unearned run and scattered nine hits and no walks with five strikeouts. The Skidmore junior has yet to allow an earned run to cross in 21.0 innings of work. Brendan O'Neill was 4-for-4 with two RBI, two stolen bases, and a run. Skidmore stole eight bases without being caught. Danny Melillo and Jackson Hornung had two in addition to O'Neill. Ewen Donald and Anthony Mollica both swiped one bag.

Juniata got a split at Moravian on day one of their first Landmark Conference series of the season, winning game one 8-2 before dropping the second 9-5 Saturday afternoon at Gillespie Field. Chase Alessandroni went the distance to get the win in game one, allowing four hits two runs while striking out eight. Alessandroni's nine-inning complete game was the first for the program since Hunter Price through a complete game over nine innings against Susquehanna back in 2019. Junior Noah Ingalls started game two for the Blue and Grey and threw six innings, allowing five earned runs on ten hits and walking two batters. Kevin Brandt entered in relief and tossed three innings while striking out four batters and allowing just one hit. Brandt earned his first win of the year.

Senior captain Trey Karnes had three hits, including the game-winning RBI single in the 10th inning, and sophomore Tillman Butler added two hits and two RBIs in the second game, while junior Ethan Currin and freshman Johnny Oates II each hit home runs in the first game, as Hampden-Sydney College swept an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader, 9-5 and 4-3 in ten innings, from Roanoke College on Saturday afternoon on Yank Bernier Field at the Ty Cobb Ballpark – Wurdeman Stadium. Junior Owen Tappy gained the pitching victory in relief in the thrilling 4-3 walk-off win in the nightcap, while freshman Lance Tate took the mound triumph in relief in the 9-5 opening-game win for the host Tigers (10-5, 4-2) against the visiting Maroons (8-9, 0-4).
