DECORAH, IOWA - It's not Heaven. It's Iowa.

Luther and Briar Cliff will face off in the Field of Dreams movie site game on Friday, September 16 in Dyersville, Iowa as the first two college baseball teams to play on the iconic field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. following an alumni game featuring former Norse and Chargers alike. Additional information regarding pre-game festivities will be released by the Luther College Alumni office and luthernorse.com.

Field of Dreams was released in 1989 as a movie adaptation of W.P. Kinsella's novel "Shoeless Joe". Directed by Phil Robinson and starring Kevin Costner, it tells the story of a farmer who turned his Iowa cornfield into a full sized baseball field and attracted the ghosts of baseball legends. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Original Score and Best Adapted Screenplay, and was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2017.

With the Field of Dreams movie site game featuring Luther College and Briar Cliff University just a month away, the Chargers announced tickets for the contest will be available on their athletics website.

Ticket prices for the historic game start at $20 for general admission seating, while bleacher seats are available for $100. Children under the age of two get in free. GA seats are available along the right field line, and fans are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. Bleacher seating is available along the first base dugout.
