PRESQUE ISLE. ME – Executive Director of Athletics & Recreation, Dan Kane, is pleased to announce the hiring of Dan Prigge as the University of Maine at Presque Isle's Head Baseball Coach.
Kane said, "We are very excited to announce the hiring of Coach Prigge. We had a very deep and competitive candidate pool and Coach Prigge rose to the top of our list with his focus on the overall student athlete experience for not only our baseball players but all of UMPI's student athletes. He is a great fit for UMPI and the Presque Isle community and we look forward to having him lead our baseball team."
Prigge is the former assistant coach at Greensboro College in North Carolina, also serving as the baseball teams Catching and Bullpen Coach in the 2022-2023 season. In the summer of 2022, Prigge also coached with the North Carolina Baseball Academy.
Prior to his stint at Greensboro College, Prigge served as the Assistant Baseball Coach and Recruiting coordinator at Saint peter's University, an NCAA Division I University in New Jersey. In his two years with the program, he became the top assistant as his roles ranged from first base and hitting coach to leading the operational duties of the program. All while earning a Master's degree in Management and Finance.
In his time, Prigge has coached and operated many different baseball leagues, such as Rockland Boulders professional baseball organization and the North Jersey Horned Frogs in the Metropolitan Collegiate Baseball League. Prigge also spent time as a student manager at the University of Pittsburgh after spending some time playing college baseball at Point Park University, before a career ending injury.

Prigge currently lives in North Carolina with his fiance Samantha and will start his duties on September 1st.
