GRAND CHUTE, Wis. -- Cortland State is waiting, while Trinity (Texas) took the bull by the horns, jumping out to an early lead in a winner-take-all game.
With the rain coming down, La Crosse scratched out a couple of runs in the sixth and took a 4-3 lead, then added another five runs in the seventh. After the rain delay, they held on to win 10-7 as Trinity put four on the board in the ninth.
UW-L and Trinity are playing again today because Trinity (Texas) busted out the bats early and often vs. UW-La Crosse and cruised to a 16-6 win in the day's final game.

Meanwhile, the Championship Series will begin immediately following this game, with Cortland State taking on the winner in Game 1 of a best-of-three series. Game 2, and Game 3 if necessary, are scheduled for Wednesday.
