Well, Friday was a wash, practically. More time was spent waiting out rain delays than actually watching baseball. But St. John Fisher, Keystone, UW-Whitewater and La Roche finally got to take the field on Saturday as the bottom bracket gets involved in the 2016 Division III World Series.

And for Keystone, it was a big opening game of the tournament, as the Giants exploded for nine runs in the sixth inning en route to a 16-3 win vs. St. John Fisher.
Brandon Eady went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two walks and three RBI for the Giants as they knocked around St. John Fisher ace Stephen Lewis to the tune of eight runs, seven earned in five-plus innings.
Keystone moves on to play in Sunday's second game, while St. John Fisher had to come back in the final game Saturday to stave off elimination, defeating UW-Whitewater 4-3. UW-La Crosse survived the other elimination game, rolling past Emory 12-3.
La Roche got another strong outing from starter Tanner Wilt in a 5-3 victory for the Redhawks. Wilt gave up just eight hits in improving to 9-2, while left fielder Luis Navedo went 4-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored in the win.
