Kicking off elimination day was 20th-ranked Wooster. The Scots were clicking in all phases as they survived the first of two elimination games on Saturday with a 13-2 win over Otterbein at Art Murray Field. Wooster will play Rochester in a late elimination game. "Obviously, it was a little better day than yesterday," said head coach Tim Pettorini. "I really think the key was getting out to a good start, being a visiting team and putting up a number. That helped everybody relax. You've got young guys who are battling and playing their guts out. They didn't get too down after yesterday's ball game. They came out and battled. We've got a steep hill to climb. You can't do it without getting started on the right foot today, and we did that." Wooster kept their bats hot in their evening rematch with Rochester. Wooster scored in every inning but the seventh in a 21-4 win over the Yellow Jackets. The Scots had contributions up and down the lineup to advance to the regional championship game
Ryley McGregor lined a double into right center in the bottom of the fourth inning that broke a scoreless game, as the Buena Vista bats came alive during a 7-3 victory over St. John's in the first elimination game of regional tournament hosted by Concordia-Chicago. Junior Bryce Rheault became the program's single-season hit king following his three-hit performance. The rest of the Concordia-Chicago regional will have to wait -- rain washed out the following game, with Concordia-Chicago leading Baldwin Wallace 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh. The game will resume on Sunday morning.
New England College set a new program record for the most wins in a single season after they put up three runs in the eighth inning to rally past MIT in game four of the 2019 NCAA Division III Gorham Baseball Regional at Ed Flaherty Field on the campus of the University of Southern Maine. The MIT pitching staff could not keep the Pilgrim bats down for the whole game, as they rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Powers drew a leadoff walk before Joe Maestu was hit by a pitch. Carey loaded the bases, as he reached on a fielding error by the Engineer's pitcher. Anderson would flair a blooper to centerfield with one out to score one, before Maestu scored on a Morin sacrifice fly to left field. Evan Delaney would get plunked with a pitch to reload the bases before Xavier Nunez also got hit to score the go-ahead run. NEC will need to lose twice on Sunday to Southern Maine to be denied a trip to the super regionals.
Aurora had their season end in the Washington regional on Saturday evening but not before a long day of two games, a win over Cornell 3-2 and a heartbreaking defeat against Washington University 10-9 in 11 innings in St. Louis, Missouri. In the loss to Washington, Colin Rivard got things going with two outs in the 11th inning. He reached on an error, then stole second and two more WashU errors allowed him to score on the play, giving Aurora a 9-8 lead. The Bears answered with the first two batters reach on a hit by pitch and walk. With one out, a single to right on a ball that took a bad hop off Cole Davis at first tied the game. After a fouled off squeeze attempt on the first pitch, Henry Singer singled up the middle, driving in the winning run to score.
Whitman kept its season alive, dropping game three if its best of five NCAA Regional series at Chapman but riding the arm of Eric ma for a game four win at Hart Field. The series now moves to a winner-take-all game five on Sunday. In a game that featured just about everything, Chapman scored early and then late to top the Blues 9-4 in game three of their NCAA Regional. The pressure was on for Ma in the nightcap which proved to be an elimination game for the Blues. Like Travid Cravan on Friday, Ma delivered a complete game while battling through several tough innings but gaining momentum as the game went on to give Whitman a 5-2 win. In improving to 8-3, he surrendered two runs (one unearned) on seven hits in his nine innings. Like the Chapman-Whitman series, the NCAA Birmingham Regional has come down to a winner-take-all game after LaGrange and Birmingham-Southern split two games at Striplin Field. The two teams square off Sunday with the winner advancing to next week's Super Regional. LaGrange (32-11) won the first game 6-4, then Birmingham-Southern took the second game 8-5.

Salve Regina survived its seventh elimination game in the last 15 days with a 13-1 triumph over Keystone at Trinity (Conn.). The Seahawks got eight innings of shutout pitching from senior lefty Will Ginsberg who allowed just seven hits to the Giants and struck out four. His mates played errorless ball behind him, in contrast to yesterday's six-error game in an 11-3 loss to the Bantams, and had 13 hits, led by a 4-for-4 day at the plate for junior catcher Dylan Ketch. Seahawk freshman first baseman Sean O'Malley had his second straight game with a first-inning RBI when he smashed a three-run homer off Jared Rowley.
But Salve Regina could not survine an eighth. Junior Matt Koperniak went 5-for-5 with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs scored to help propel the Trinity Bantam past the Seahawks, 7-2, in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament. Trinity came back from down 2-0 in the elimination game after falling to Babson earlier in the day, 4-1. Salve Regina advanced after knocking Keystone out of the tournament in the day's first game, a 13-1 contest, while Babson moved to tomorrow's finals with the win over Trinity. The Beavers and Bantams will square off at 2:30 p.m. with Trinity needing to win twice to advance past this weekend.
Washington & Jefferson heads to Sunday unbeaten as the Presidents blanked Rowan 2-0. Sophomore Nick Drake tossed six shutout innings in the winner's bracket final of regional play at Salisbury. Neither team could muster much offense as Drake matched up in a pitcher's duel against Profs' senior starter Danny Serreino, who led Rowan in innings pitched on the season with a team-best 2.12 ERA. Despite working a pair of runners on base in the second and third innings, W&J was unable to record a hit to scratch out a run. Sparked by senior shortstop Spencer Howell, W&J made a breakthrough in the bottom of the fifth inning. Howell led off the frame with a single into left field. The senior then swiped second before Justin Griffin drew a walk to put runners on first and second with no outs. With Shayne Erny at the plate, Howell used a heads-up play on the bases to steal third. Later in the at-bat, Erny scored Howell with an RBI single up the middle to give W&J a 1-0 lead. A few batters later, Mullen Socha singled to center to score Griffin, which extended the Presidents' lead to 2-0.
No. 17 Coe withstood a late rally from No. 5 Washington University and advanced to Sunday's regional final with a 5-3 victory in NCAA Tournament action in the WashU Regional in St. Louis. In a matchup pitting two of the top three teams in the nation in team earned run average, runs were going to come at a premium Saturday. That was the case through the first five innings as each team could only muster a run each. The Kohawks were able to string together some runs in the later innings building a 5-1 advantage before surrendering two Bear runs in the ninth.
St. Joseph's (Maine) also kept its season going as the Monks toppled Baruch 11-0. The loss signals the end of the 2019 season for Baruch, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. With three RBI today, Greg Emanuelson becomes the first SJC hitter to surpass the 50 RBI mark since the 2010 campaign when Todd Keneborus '11 and Ben Grant-Roy '10 knocked in 65 and 51 runs, respectively. Emanuelson's 51 RBI total is tied for the fifth-most in a season in team history.
Scott Giordano went 4-for-6 with a homer, double, three RBI and two runs scored to lead a 13-hit attack as top-seeded Cortland advanced to the championship round of the NCAA Division III Baseball Cortland, New York Regional with a 10-5 win over third-seeded Tufts. Dan Schweitzer finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and Colin BeVard was 2-for-5 with a triple, walk and three RBI for the Red Dragons, who led 10-0 after five innings before allowing two runs in the sixth and three in the ninth to create the final margin. Cortland scored twice in the first, once in the second, four times in the third and three times in the fifth. Cortland will faces Tufts again as the Jumbos stayed alive at the NCAA Regional with a 7-4 victory over Penn State Harrisburg.

No. 8 TCNJ staved off elimination in an instant classic with its 8-7 victory over Farmingdale State in regional play at Johns Hopkins of the NCAA Tournament. With the victory, the Lions return to action against Susquehanna. The Lions held a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth, but Farmingdale State scored two in the fifth and three in the sixth to tie the score. The score finally moved in the top of the 11th. Gary Otten led off the frame with his second home run in as many days but was matched by a Ram RBI single by Vincent Rice. The Lions finally got the decider in the top of the 13th. Joe Oczkowski led off by being hit by a pitch, and Avery Epstein pinch ran. Otten bunted him to second, and Epstein moved to third when Matt Giacose reached via error. Danny Borup followed with a perfect safety squeeze, easily allowing Epstein to score without a play at the plate for the winning run.
Adrian needed extra frames to extend its season as they also squeezed out a win. The Bulldods clipped the wings of the visiting Redhawks from La Roche, 6-4 in 10 innings. La Roche is eliminated while the host Bulldogs will play a game later tonight. Adrian manufactured two runs in the top of the 10th inning when senior Zack Zschering perfected a suicide-squeeze bunt single to score sophomore Sean O'Keefe, who led off with a double to left field, and junior Brady Wood lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to plate Zschering who eventually got to third base after an error and a fielder's choice. That broke a 4-4 tie. Adrian ended their day knocking of the top regonal seed, Denison, 5-3 to face an undefeated Heidleberg. The Bulldogs will need two wins on their home field to advancce to the super-regional.
Shenandoah continued its run in the 2019 NCAA Tournament with a 9-2 victory Saturday afternoon over top seeded Ithaca. The Hornets broke open the game with a six-spot in the sixth, chasing Ithaca starter Jake Binder. Luke Nussman and Jaime Naill led off the inning with singles, and after a failed sacrifice bunt cut down Nussman at third, Matt Moon singled off of Binder's leg to load the bases. The Hornets executed a pair of bases loaded suicide squeezes to score the first two runs and scored a third run on a Robert Marcelle groundout. Tristan Baker then drew a walk to reload the bases, which ended Binder's day. Keegan Woolford, who had saved a run in the fifth with a diving catch in left center, made it 6-1 by drawing a bases loaded walk before Nussman posted his second hit of the frame with a two-run single to center. Shenandoah followed up this win with a 7-1 victory over Westfield State to advance to the regional championship. The Hornets will meet Kean as Frank LoGiudice tossed eight strong innings and picked up three hits to help the Cougars stay undefeated in regional action with a 9-1 win over Westfield State. LoGuidice allowed just four hits and no earned runs as he improved to 8-2 on the season. Offensively he was 3-for-4 with a double, run scored and an RBI.
Case Western Reserve secured a spot in the regional championship game on Sunday with a 11-0 win over Rocherster where it will face the winner of the elimination game between Rochester and host Wooster. Matt Levine surrendered just six hits and a walk in the game, while striking out five batters, needed just 111 pitches to secure his first complete game of the season and the second-straight by a Spartan pitcher at the NCAA Regionals. Meanwhile, the Spartans totaled 15 hits in the game, including a four-for-six performance and two runs scored for senior third baseman Jacob Kucia, and a three-for-five day at the plate with three runs scored, three RBIs, a home run, a walk and a stolen base for senior second baseman Rocco Maue.
The fourth-ranked Trinity (Texas) Tigers survived an elimination game at the NCAA Regional Tournament by defeating host Texas Lutheran 10-7 on Saturday. Rafe Chaumette led the offense as one of three Trinity players with three hits in the game, finishing 3-5 with a home run and two RBI. Mark Tindall (6-0) earned the win with 4.0 innings of relief, stopping a potent Texas Lutheran offense that had piled up six runs on seven hits over the first five-plus innings. Tindall yielded just one run on four hits over the final four frames. Trinity did not survive their next contest as Franklin defeated the Tigers 6-3, eliminating the lone remaining team from Texas for a spot in the D-III World Series.
A combined nine runs through the first two innings lifted top-seeded UMass-Boston to a 12-2 win over the second-seeded Lyons of Wheaton (Mass.) in game four of the UMass Boston Regional. Nick Cotraro led the Beacons early inning onslaught as he registered six RBI on a 3-for-4 day for the junior outfielder. Fernando Burgos was dominant on the hill as he improved to 8-0 on the campaign. In seven innings of work the righty fanned five and allowed just two runs on seven hits, while not allowing a walk. His seven innings of work moved him into first all-time in innings pitched. Nick Nerzog continued to swing a strong bat as he went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI.
