- UW-Stevens Point is making their first appearance since 2013. Overall this is their sixth College World Series appearance.
- Head Coach Nat Richter, a two-time WIAC Coach of the Year, is no stranger to the DIII College World Series. He played for the Pointers when UWSP went to the CWS in 2006, finishing fifth.
- The Pointers open with Salisbury for their first ever meeting.UW-Stevens Point has never played Catholic but has just one game against Marietta, a 2-1 loss in the 2006 D-III World Series.
