WINCHESTER, Va. –  No. 6/7 Shenandoah University completed a perfect baseball weekend Sunday afternoon with a 10-4 non-league victory over Elizabethtown.

Senior All-America Kevin Brashears and sophomore Joey Donofrio each hit home runs to help SU (5-0) dispatch the Blue Jays (0-1).

Brashears, who finished the day with three RBI, hit a 2-run dinger in the second before Donofrio connected with a 3-run HR in the sixth.

Donofrio's home run, his first in a Hornets uniform, broke open a close ballgame.

It was 5-3 in favor of the Hornets when Donofrio took E-town reliever Rob Cressman just over the right field wall.

Shenandoah added another run in the sixth, on a Cory Nelson double to center, before Tim Rosser closed out the day's with a solo HR to lead off the Blue Jay ninth.

Junior Kyle Scallion, the last of seven SU pitchers, recorded three straight outs to finish off the victory.

Sophomore Vince Claudio (1-0) earned the win with 5 2/3 innings of work. Claudio allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits before departing three batters into the sixth.

Donofrio and Greg Van Sickler each had three hits for the victors with Brashears and Kurt Kraut getting two each.
