An error by Wilkes shortstop Eric Bidwell plated Wildcats senior Teddy Katz (Pittsburgh, Pa.) in the top of the 9th to knot the score at seven before a walk and double plated the game-winning run for the Colonels in the bottom of the inning.

Both teams were scoreless thru three until sophomore Zach Boyes (West Warwick, R.I.) was moved around the horn by a Jake Dickerson (Garnet Valley, Pa.) single and a fielder's choice by senior Matt Yaeger (Glendale, AZ) to give JWU the 1-0 lead in the 4th. After another run in the top of the 5th inning, Wilkes responded with a four run inning thanks to a three run double by Matt Ruch. In the top of the 6th, the Wildcats capitalized on three singles and a two-run scoring wild pitch by Mark Siebel to tie the game at four.

A two run lead was shortlived in the top of the 7th as the Colonels responded with three runs of their own to take the 8-7 lead thru the 8th inning and into the 9th.

With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 0-4 while Wilkes improves to 1-0. JWU is back in action on March 5th when they take on Penn St-Abington in their final game in South Carolina.
