25th-Ranked Thomas More Remains Undefeated With 13-5 Win Over Hanover

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The 25th-ranked Thomas More College baseball team remained undefeated today (Thursday, March 17, 2011) as it defeated Hanover College, 13-5, in a non-conference game at Thomas More Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 7-0 and with the loss, the Panthers fall to 1-8.

Thomas More scored two in the third, four in the sixth, four in the seventh and three in the eighth, while Hanover scored one in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the eighth.

Five Saints had multiple hit games as sophomore shortstop David Kennett (Groveport, Ohio/Groveport) was four-for-six with a homerun, four runs batted-in and three runs scored, freshman second baseman Jason Handley (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was three-for-four with three RBI and a run scored, senior left fielder Max Robbins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) was two-for-five with a double, two RBI and two runs scored, sophomore designated hitter Grant Lewis (Mason, Ohio/Mason) was two-for-four with a double and three runs scored and junior catcher Andrew Clements (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) was two-for-five with a RBI and two runs scored.

Junior Aaron Carmack (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) started and had a no-decision as he pitched five innings giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits, while striking out three.  Senior Michael Murray (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) earned the win as he pitched two-thirds of an inning in relief and gave up two hits.

Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (March 19) when it travels to Bluffton, Ohio to play Bluffton University in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
