WINTER HAVEN, FL- Wheaton College baseball junior Dan Haugh (Andover, MA/Saint John's Prep) became just the third player in program history and first since 2006 to drive in seven runs, leading the Lyons to a 13-6 triumph over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Friday afternoon at Chain of Lakes Park. 

Running its winning streak to three games while improving to 4-1, Wheaton entered today's action ranked 18th in the country by D3baseball.com.  The Engineers fell to 5-4.

Haugh's monster day included going 4-for-6 with one run, as he was a triple short of hitting for the cycle, while making key defensive plays at third base.  Sophomore Sean Ryan (Norton, MA/Norton) went 3-for-6 with three runs, while senior Sean Munley (Ewing, NJ/The Hun School of Princeton) notched a career-high-tying four walks, one shy of the school record, with two runs.  Senior Hadi Raad (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY/Hastings) drove in a pair of runs.

On the mound, freshman Nick Filloramo (Rochester, MA/Old Rochester Regional) picked up a victory in his first collegiate start, yielding five earned runs on 10 hits with one strikeout and two walks in 6.2 innings.  Senior D.J. McGee (Worcester, MA/Saint Peter-Marian) tossed 2.1 hitless frames, fanning one while issuing three walks.

Wheaton jumped on top early with three runs in the first and never looked back, as back-to-back three-run innings in the sixth and the seventh provided the Lyons with a comfortable 12-3 advantage.  Haugh's double to right center with one down in the first put Wheaton on the board before a bases-loaded hit batsman made the score 3-0.

The Lyons led 6-3 after three before Haugh's three-run blast over the left field fence quickly stretched Wheaton's advantage to six.  Haugh was at it again the seventh, ripping a two-run single down the left field line.  Raad scored on a throwing error earlier in the frame.  Four straight RPI doubles in the home half of the seventh brought the score to 12-6 before the Lyons completed the scoring with a run on Raad's sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Wheaton will finish its spring trip over the next two days against New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as the Lyons begin defense of their league championship with a doubleheader tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex.
