Bethel Wins Big Against Lasell In Game One, Falls 12-10 In Second Game

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Bethel boys of summer split with Lasell College by scores of 17-2 and 10-12 Wednesday afternoon in Fort Myers. Despite such a decisive victory in game one, the Royals couldn't finish with a swept of Lasell.

Hits were abundant throughout game one with Mike Sedjo finishing the game 3-4 with 3 runs scored. Sean Bethke knocked in 4 runners on 2 hits as well. The left field slot in the lineup was rather productive with Travis Piepho going 2-4 on the game with 5 RBI, while his mid-game replacement Cullen Norman finished 2-2 with an RBI. Matt Rowley also finished the game with 2 hits. David Anderson recorded the win on the mound for the Royals after going 4 innings allowing 0 earned runs and recording 5 strikeouts. Sedjo pitch 2 innings after Anderson recording a strikeout, while Jesse Nickols sealed the deal in the final frame for the Royals. 

Lasell fought back in round two, putting up 12 runs. The Royals tried to combat the offensive splurge from Lasell with runs of their own. Piepho finished 2-3, while Erik Anderson and Jay Slick each recorded 3 hits and 3 RBI. Despite some big innings from the Royals, they couldn't come away with the victory and fell 12-10.
