DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College's baseball team split its doubleheader with Albright College on Sunday afternoon at Bob Reed Field.  After dropping the first game, the Wolverines (3-1) defeated the Lions, 2-1 in game two.

Neither team could get much offense going in game two as the school's combined for just eight hits.  Albright took a 1-0 lead in the second but Wesley tied it up in its half of the inning as Bryan Reshetar, who walked to start the rally, stole second and third and scored on a throwing error by the catcher. 

The Wolverines took the lead in its final at bat as Geoff Kimmel singled through the right side and advanced to second on a wild pitch.  Morgan Rupp then sacrificed him over to third and Kimmel touched home on Reshetar's sacrifice fly to left field.

Albright threatened in the seventh as the leadoff batter drew a free pass off closer Mark Mattern.  The next batter then hit a shot in the gap in right center but Reshetar made a great grab and doubled up the batter at second.  Mattern fanned the final batter to preserve the victory for the Wolverines.

Kimmel collected two of the team's three hits in the victory and Greg McKee got the other in his first action of the year.

Rich Lober got the win in relief of Jake Dunn for Wesley allowing just one hit and striking one in the sixth.  Dunn allowed an unearned run on four hits while striking out four.  Mattern got credit for the save.

There was much more offense in the opener as the Wolverines outhit the Lions, 10-8.  Wesley opened up a 3-0 lead in the first as Sam Farnell scored Rob Benedict with a double down the left field line.  A single by Steve Perone scored Farnell and Kimmel drove in Perone with a sacrifice fly. 

Both teams scored a run in the third but Albright erupted for six runs in the fifth and a run in both the sixth and seventh innings. 

Zach Stuart got the loss for the Wolverines while allowing six runs on just three hits in 4.1 innings of work.  He also fanned five batters.  Andrew Cooper pitched the final 2.2 innings for Wesley.

Kimmel had four hits in the twinbill to lead Wesley offensively while Farnell, Perone and Rupp also had multiple hits on the afternoon.  Benedict had three steals in game one and two more in the second.

Next on the docket for the Wolverines is CCNY on Saturday, February 28, in a 12 pm doubleheader at Bob Reed Field.
