The University of Redlands baseball team upset ninth-ranked Eastern Connecticut State University in Saturday's rained-shortened contest, defeating the Warriors by a score of 3-0 in six innings of play.

While Redlands picked up its second consecutive victory of the Cal Invite, senior starting pitcher Josh Snyder (Denver, CO) starred for the Maroon and Gray by earning his first win since defeating Caltech on March 27, 2010. In today's outing, the veteran chucked five scoreless innings, allowing Eastern Connecticut to snag three hits and one walk while fanning two.

Coming out of the bullpen, freshman Kevin MacLachlan (Healdsburg, CA) picked up his first collegiate save after tossing a hitless final frame.

Freshman right fielder Connor Hancock (Burbank, CA) raked in the team's only multi-hit performance, headlined by an RBI-double in the top of the fifth inning.

Sophomore centerfielder Alex Scheiwe (Encinitas, CA), sophomore designated hitter Max Hardman (Encinitas, CA) and freshman third baseman Sean MacMillan (Redwood City, CA) accounted for the Bulldogs' runs by crossing home plate.

On the base paths, senior shortstop Chase Tucker (Poway, CA) swiped two steals.

Redlands (10-10) looks forward to wrapping up the Cal Invite on Sunday when it hosts Ithaca College (NY) at 1 p.m.
