WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior shortstop Matt Kelly was 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBI and junior centerfielder Kevin Greene was 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBI to power Westfield State University to a 9-3 non-conference victory over Albertus Magnus College on Thursday, March 22.
 
Westfield evened its record at 6-6 while Albertus dropped to 1-7.
 
Trailing 1-0, the Owls crossed the plate four times in the third inning with the big blows a Kelly RBI single, a runscoring triple by Greene, and an RBI double by freshman designated hitter Nick Champeau.
 
Albertus scored two unearned runs in the sixth to close with a run, 4-3. The Owls then erupted for five runs on five hits in the home half of sixth for the game's final runs.
 
Greene delivered a two-run single to rightfield and Kelly followed with a ringing double to leftfield that drove in two more runs.
 
Westfield outhit Albertus, 15-6. Freshman Tim Santilli, who replaced his high school teammate Champeau (Southbridge/Tantasqua HS) as the designated hitter, was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI. Freshman Jeremy Tanguay and Dan Rokitowski also doubled as the Owls pounded seven extra basehits.
 
Fanol Prevalla was 2 for 4 for Albertus and Zak Sokolis was 2 for 4 with a double.
 
Winning pitcher Bret Siflinger threw eight complete innings for the victory. He allowed six hits, one earned run and no walks and struck out 10. Tommy Carroll fanned two in an inning of relief.
