Trinity Baseball Takes Two From Grinnell To Close Florida Trip

Winter Haven, Fla. - Junior Steve Rogers (Watertown, Mass.) went 4-for-6 with a triple and home run over two games to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 5/10-1/1 doubleheader sweep against Grinnell College Pioneers in RussMatt Central Florida Invitational baseball action this afternoon at Chain of Lakes Park Stadium. Trinity improves to 11-5 and closes its nine-day trip South with an 11-3 mark over 14 games.

Junior RHP Ben Goldberg (Plainview, N.Y.) gave up two hits in four innings to earn a win in the first game, and senior righty Ed Donovan (Milton, Mass.) finished up with two hits and one run allowed over the final three innings of game one. Three pitchers yielded five hits and just one run in the nightcap, including five-K effort in the final two frames by rookie Anthony Redamonti (Trumbull, Conn.). Seniors Luke Auger (Avon, Conn.) and Kevin Mortimer (Spencer, Mass.) both homered in the first game for the Bantams.
