Wabash took early leads in a pair of games at Wittenberg but could not hold on by dropping a 5-4 contest in game one to the Tigers. Wittenberg won the second North Coast Athletic Conference West Division game 9-4.

The Little Giants held a 4-0 lead heading into the final inning of game one when Wittenberg (16-7, 2-4 NCAC West) started its rally. After scoring two runs and putting runners at second and first, Wabash appeared to make its biggest play of the game on a double-play ball to Andrew Rodgers at third. His throw to first was in time, and the throw back to third appeared to put out Wittenberg runner David Moore. Moore was ruled safe, allowing the inning to continue. The Tigers capitalized on the opportunity, scoring three more runs to win the one-run contest.

Holm opened the scoring in the first inning for Wabash with an RBI single to score Tanner Watson. Montana Timmons added another run on a fielder's choice in the third inning after Chris Deig opened the frame with a single and moved to third on a Watson single. Timmons added another RBI with a single in the fifth. Holm scored the fourth run of the game after being hit by a pitch for the second time in the game when Rodgers singled to right.

Andrew Swart took the loss in game one, pitching 6-2/3 innings and allowing five runs on ten hits with one walk and two strikeouts. Luke Zinsmaster faced one batter, surrendering the game-winning hit to Grant Goodwin in the seventh.

Wabash scored two runs in the first inning of game two when Holm walked and Timmons drilled a double to right-center. John Pennington brought Timmons home with a single to center.

The Tigers picked up a run in the second and another in the sixth before exploding for a three-spot in the seventh and four more in the eighth. Wabash rallied with three runs in the final inning. Tyler Owensby started the ninth with a walk, moving to second on a single by pinch-hitter Trey Fankhauser. A wild pitch moved the runners up one base, leading to an RBI single by Robby Hechinger. Deig brought another run home with a single through the left side. Hechinger scored a play later on an errant throw by the Tigers when Wittenberg tried for a game-ending double play.

JT Miller took the loss, giving up five runs and 11 hits in 6-2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out six batters. Jimmy Maxwell struck out the only batter he faced in the seventh. Ross Hendrickson pitched the final inning, allowing four runs on three hits with two walks.

Wittenberg stayed away from Holm's offensive capabilities in game two. The senior drew four walks to set a new Wabash record for free passes in a game. Only one of the walks was intentional. He was 1-for-3 for the two games, but reached base a total of seven times. Owensby finished the day with three hits in five at bats. Watson and Deig also collected three hits apiece. Timmons had three RBI with two hits.

Wabash fell to 12-12 with the loss, and 4-2 in the NCAC West. The two squads will meet for the final doubleheader of the series on Sunday beginning at noon.
