DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College exploded for 15 runs and 21 hits as it opened its three-game series with Eastern University with Thursday afternoon's 15-3 triumph.

The win improved the Aggies to 10-12 overall and 3-7 in conference action while the Eagles fell to 13-10 and 4-6. The series will shift to Eastern for a doubleheader on Monday, April 9 (1:00 p.m.).

Eight of the nine starters in the Delaware Valley lineup notched a hit in the game with six finishing with two or more base knocks. Four of the hits came in the first inning as the Aggies jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead. Pete O'Hara began his five-hit showing with a leadoff single, stole second and scored on Jeff Sennett's dingle to left field. Dan Hrubos followed with a double and three batters later, Mike Ferrier ripped a double to plate both Sennett and Hrubos.

Delaware Valley then made it 9-0 by scoring six runs on seven hits and a pair of Eastern errors in the third inning. Ferrier had another double, this time driving in one run. O'Hara, Hrubos, Sennett and Matt Bodine each had RBI singles in the stanza.

The Aggies continued their strong offensive showing in the fifth with five runs on five hits. Hrubos drove in two with a single while Bodine added a two-run triple. Ferrier also notched his fourth RBI of the contest in the inning.

Eastern hit the scoreboard with three runs in the sixth on RBI ground outs by Greg DeSarro and Andrew DiFerdinando and an RBI triple by Mark Royer. Delaware Valley notched its final run of the day on a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth.

O'Hara finished 5-for-6 with a stolen base, four runs scored and one RBI. Hrubos was 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs while Bodine was 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored and three RBIs. Ferrier drove in four with a 2-for-4 effort while Sennett was 3-for-6 with two RBIs. Jim Calabrese earned his first win of the year as he went eight innings and allowed three runs and six hits while striking out five.

Six different players had one hit apiece for Eastern. Nick Moeltner lasted just two-plus innings and suffered the loss.
