Pitt-Greensurg downs IUP 3-2; Colish breaks his own home run record

Indiana, PA- Bryan Colish (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep.) hit a two out, two run home run while Mike Pearson (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) and Matt Kloos (Seven Fields, PA/Seneca Valley) combined to through five shutout innings in relief as Pitt-Greensburg earned the program's first win over a NCAA division II school, 3-2 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon.

Kloos picked up his second save of the season by throwing three hitless innings of relief which included working out of a no out bases loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh.  He allowed just a single base runner, a two out walk in the eighth.

Pitt-Greensburg scored all three of their runs in the top half of the seventh.  After two quick outs, Dylin Brooks (Ardara, PA/Norwin) reached second on a throwing error, and then scored on a throwing error by the catcher as he advanced to third on a wild pitch.  Dan Moyer (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) singled through the right side of the infield and was plated by Colish's ninth home run of the season.

Colish went 2-5 on the afternoon and reset his own single season home run record of eight which set back in the 2010 season.  Moyer also recorded two hits including a double in the first inning.

Matt Kochasic (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford) made his first career start Wednesday afternoon.  He allowed two runs on three hits over four innings, the longest outing of the sophomore's career.

Pearson earned the win evening his season record at 2-2.  He allowed two hits over two innings.

Pitt-Greensburg out hit IUP 6-5 on the afternoon and no Crimson Hawk recorded more than one hit.

Pitt-Greensburg now 18-17 finish up their regular season scheduled with AMCC rival Hilbert College on Friday, April, 20th, 2012.  First pitch of the double header is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
